Chapter 216: Death
Destiny's Dominion · 第二一六章 死亡
……
Sampson Brut and Thompson Adams’s men arrived extremely quickly; within two minutes of Li Mochen issuing the order, they had brought their combat personnel to the vicinity of the Revelers Nightclub.
These two genius commanders then took less than a minute to finalize the preliminary battle plan. Of course, all of this was based on Li Mochen’s ability to kill ‘Black Axe’ Richard with a single shot, though both of them were deeply skeptical of this.
“Mysterious sniper, are you sure you’re not joking? Killing Richard—a Level 16 Storm Lord—from 14 kilometers away, through a meter-thick bulletproof wall or twelve layers of laminated vacuum bulletproof glass?”
The hoarse voice coming through the intercom belonged to Major Thompson Adams, whom Li Mochen had yet to meet face to face.
Unlike Sampson Brut, who had personally witnessed the formation of Li Mochen’s secondary body, Major Adams knew nothing of its identity and simply regarded it as another outlaw-level expert hired by Li Mochen.
“I guarantee it!”
Li Mochen’s voice was calm. “If I fail, I will be the last to retreat.”
“Alright, I don’t know who you are, but the boss gave you the highest command authority. You were also in charge of the Craig Community Bank, right?”
Thompson Adams’s voice carried a hint of resignation. “Then, Commander of this battle, if you’re set on doing this, please start as soon as possible. We may only have a few minutes.”
Li Mochen understood what he meant. With such a large-scale mobilization inside Atlanta, gathering at least sixty magic-energy professionals near the Revelers Nightclub, it was impossible to leave no trace.
The Blood Hand Gang was by no means deaf or blind; on the contrary, their intelligence network was quite powerful. The combat groups they had deployed nearby were also magic-energy professionals with rich combat experience, unlikely to remain oblivious while being surrounded.
Li Mochen estimated that the enemy would discover the anomaly within three minutes at most.
So now, he intended to do exactly as Major Adams had suggested.
As Li Mochen aimed the gun barrel again at the office in the Revelers Nightclub, the emotional colors in his eyes gradually faded.
Then, one by one, spells began to stack upon himself and the bullet.
Intermediate Titan’s Eye, Intermediate Titan’s Strike, Intermediate Titan’s Punishment, Dragon’s Will, Dragon’s Might, Dragon’s Strength, True Dragon’s Sight, Source Power Winding—as this series of天赋 spells and source power techniques were executed one after another, a faint golden radiance began to emanate from Li Mochen’s entire body.
Then came the various abilities attached to this ‘Dragon’s Might’—Greater Disjunction, Spell Disruption, Dragon’s Prophecy, Ignore Defense, Aura of Destruction, Death Judgment, Ultimate Arrow Enhancement, Ultimate Sharpness—eight spells all approaching legendary level were triggered in succession, making the aura of the Dragon’s Might sniper rifle beneath the gun cover even more terrifying.
In comparison, the various abilities Li Mochen possessed as a Level 7 Magic Swordsman, such as Fire’s Blessing and Wind’s Blessing, had become negligible.
“Lawrence, have Atai and the others make the call, and hurry!”
Once the final spell was stacked, Li Mochen again ordered Lawrence Collinson, who immediately communicated with Li Tai via the intercom.
Meanwhile, inside the Revelers Nightclub, Black Axe Vincent Richard stood on the second floor, hands behind his back, coldly watching the dozens of young men and women below swaying to the music.
“This can’t go on, Vincent!”
A tall, thin man in a suit, looking refined, sighed beside him. “We haven’t done any business for four days straight. Those cops are camped outside every day, so we can’t sell normally. If this continues, we’ll lose all our customers. The Brad family and the Skull Society are shamelessly poaching people. I’d say in at most five days, all the regulars we’ve cultivated will be gone. Those heavy addicts can’t hold out long.”
“Yeah, Vincent.”
This was an old man, already white-haired, but still robust and powerfully built.
“Not only can’t we do business, we’re losing people every day, constantly on guard against snipers in the dark. My friend Eric, a Level 10 magic-energy mage, was shot dead in a supermarket because he let his guard down. And about the money we deposited in Craig Community Bank, what does Antonio have to say? You know, I alone have over 400,000 gold shields in that bank.”
“Shut up, will you?”
Richard glanced sideways at the men around him, his icy, emotionless gaze making them all catch their breath and fall silent like cicadas in winter.
“I told you long ago: my life was given by Mr. Antonio. Without him, I would be nothing. As long as I’m here, Mr. Antonio is the master of the Blood Hand Gang! Anyone in the family who tries to do anything to him, or harbors any thoughts, I will crush them, understand? If you’re dissatisfied, you can leave now. I won’t care—”
He was in the middle of speaking when a man in black walked up to him from behind. “Vincent, there’s a call for you in the office. It’s from Morden Street. One of our gambling dens there was attacked. They have at least six magic-energy professionals. The situation is urgent. We have over 1.2 million gold shields still uncollected there—”
Richard’s expression immediately turned serious, and he strode quickly toward his office. “Mobilize people immediately. We have two combat groups in that direction, right? Have the nearby police support us. We just stuffed them with 300,000 gold shields.”
The moment Richard opened the office door, a premonition of danger suddenly arose in his heart. He instinctively stepped back, intending to move away from the office, but at the same time, with a soft ‘pfft,’ a tiny hole appeared in the twelve-layer bulletproof glass French window in front of him. A bullet, still traveling at Mach 27 after penetrating the window, reached him in a ten-thousandth of a finger snap.
Black Axe Richard let out a nearly desperate roar. The defensive artifacts and scrolls on his body activated layer upon layer in an instant. A powerful thunderstorm began to brew within him.
But none of this could prevent his death. The bullet struck his forehead with precision, and the effects of the three spells—Greater Disjunction, Aura of Destruction, and Death Judgment—instantly tore apart his body and soul.
“Target is dead!”
In the ‘Naomi’ building, Li Mochen coldly uttered these words and issued the order: “Commence the operation. Our objective is to eliminate all magic-energy professionals within the encirclement in ten minutes and seize the safe inside the nightclub.”
At that moment, a burst of fire erupted from a window eight kilometers away, and a large amount of blood splattered onto the glass. Li Mochen recognized it as Howard Eisenhower, reaping the life of a magic-energy shooter.
Meanwhile, Thompson Adams, crouching at a street corner a few miles away with an automatic rifle in hand, was unusually stunned.
“What the hell? He actually hit that?”
Beside him, a fully armed magic-energy warrior looked incredulous. “Really? Under those conditions, even among the top sharpshooters in our Red Scorpion unit, only three or five could pull that off, right?”
“He did hit it!”
Snapping back to reality, Thompson released the safety catch on his rifle. “Operation starts now. Allen, you go first. The rest provide covering fire.”
