Chapter 292: Mopping Up

Destiny's Dominion · 第二九二章 扫荡

At ten o'clock in the evening, Rodan Clive, the chief information officer of Cardiv Group, drove his Norfolk sedan out of the garage with a heavy heart. But due to distraction, he momentarily lost control of the vehicle, causing the front to violently crash into a flower bed ahead.

Clive knew that in his current state, he couldn't drive himself. He sighed and walked directly to another vehicle following behind—a 'Sabertooth' armored off-road vehicle.

"Boss, are you in a bad mood?"

From the passenger seat, one of Clive's保镖 looked over with curiosity: "Going out so late at night, is something up?"

"That's none of your business. Just drive straight to the company."

Clive thought for a moment, then gave an order: "Be careful along the way, stick to crowded areas. Today, someone declared war on our Cardiv Group—the Rising Sun Company."

"War? Rising Sun Company? That chain of electronics stores that's always having sales?"

The保镖 in the car, including the driver, exchanged bewildered glances.

"I heard their boss is that lucky Andre, the famous rising star in combat."

"Wow, that little guy? He dares to declare war on Cardiv Group? Unbelievable—"

"Should we call it admirable courage? Cardiv is at least a billion-dollar conglomerate."

"The chairman will blow his head off. Pity about that pretty face."

"All of you, shut up!"

Rodan Clive, however, felt no sense of relief; his face was ashen: "That's not the little guy you think he is. 'Dark Serpent' Meckon and 'Poison Sword' Lachar may already be dead! Dead, understand?"

In an instant, the off-road vehicle fell into dead silence. Clive clenched his fists, leaned back in his seat, and closed his eyes to rest.

"Anyway, get to headquarters as fast as possible! It's not safe here anymore."

But before he finished speaking, the driver stammered, "Boss, there's someone up ahead. We might be in trouble."

Everyone in the car instantly went on alert. Rodan Clive opened his eyes and looked ahead. There, on the street in front of them, stood a massive white bear. A layer of thorny armor was spreading from its arms, gradually covering its entire body.

"Open fire! Floor it, run it over!"

Clive's heart pounded and his limbs went cold, but his eyes were filled with murderous intent.

The Norfolk 'Sabertooth' quickly accelerated to its maximum speed of three hundred kilometers per hour. The保镖 rolled down the windows and opened fire with various guns. But it was futile. The thorny armor was incredibly tough, surpassing many 18S-grade armors, and beneath it was a thick layer of bear hide. The magical bullets couldn't harm the colossal beast.

Then, with a thunderous boom, the white bear swung its massive paw, smashing into the front of the 'Sabertooth' armored vehicle. In an instant, the front half of the car crumpled flat. The two magical professionals in the driver and passenger seats went silent, crushed into meat patties.

Rodan Clive also suffered a massive impact, feeling excruciating pain throughout his body. In his mind, an unbelievable thought arose.

A level 17 druid, Thorn Ironhand—a fighter with combat power close to 19S!

But that was Clive's last thought in this world. With a soft pop, a bullet pierced through the shattered rear window and drilled through his brain from behind!

On the rooftop of the ninth floor at 39 Tucker Street in the eastern suburbs, Lawrence Collinson crouched by the window railing, aiming his sniper rifle ahead. His target was the Cardiv Storage Center a mile away. From here, he had a clear view of the front gate guard post and most of the courtyard.

The walkie-talkie beside him crackled with Sampson Brut's cold, clear voice.

"Lawrence, any problems? Can you take out the two magical professionals on the left?"

"No problem, Mr. Brut. I may not be military, but the jungles of Southeast Asia are far harsher than America."

Lawrence Collinson chewed on a chocolate bar and laughed: "I guarantee they won't be an obstacle, and your assault force won't face any hindrance on this route. Good news—I see the outlaw you mentioned, the level 15 magical sorcerer Anpson. He's smoking outside Warehouse 3. Pretty stupid, right?"

"Then take him out now!"

Sampson Brut's tone was as hard as stone: "Attention all units! Plan advanced. Move on the sound of gunfire. Over."

As Sampson's voice faded, a middle-aged man holding a pipe in front of Warehouse 3 suddenly showed a look of alarm. But he couldn't dodge in time. A bullet from the night sky pierced his shoulder, and the exploding shell tore apart half his body. This severely hindered his movement; he barely managed to activate a magical artifact on him, trying to retreat into the warehouse.

But before he could, a bullet from another direction drilled through his brain!

In an instant, rapid gunfire erupted from all sides of the storage center.

"Guard post three cleared!"

"Guard post four: two killed, one hiding behind cover. Assault force, be advised. Over."

"Guard post one cleared!"

"All units, take cover. Confirmed: Isolt Cardiv is in Warehouse 2. One of our men is wounded. 15S-level marksmanship. Over!"

Under the night sky and moonlight, teams of fully armed magical professionals surged into the storage center like a swarm of wolves. Fierce exchanges of gunfire erupted in various places, but each lasted no more than three seconds before dying down. Under someone's command, the entire assault was like mercury pouring onto the ground—irresistible.

At the same time, five rocket-propelled grenades and two recoilless rifles slammed into the outer wall of Warehouse 2. As the magical defense array weakened, a heavily armored, exceptionally burly figure charged like a tank, smashing the warehouse door to pieces.

With a thunderous crash, the berserker, whose strength neared level 17, let out a deafening roar.

"Isolt Cardiv!"

Sparks flew from his body as countless bullets hammered against his triple-layered heavy armor, producing a continuous clatter.

But the berserker ignored the gunfire. His eyes were fixed on a slender figure who had switched to an automatic rifle and was retreating rapidly. Without hesitation, he charged again!

The next moment, the area where the figure stood was ravaged by a massive Viking axe, everything sliced and smashed into fragments and dust.
