Chapter 304: Dragon's Nest

Destiny's Dominion · 第三零四章 龙巢

"You're right. Only I can be responsible for my own decisions."

Li Mochen hadn't expected that inviting this lady would bring such benefits. His current chief information officer hadn't managed to gather intelligence on the Black Tortoise Pirate Group or the Adelaide Pirate Group.

Of course, he wouldn't trust Nanette Drew unconditionally. Whether things were as she said still required some investigation.

Li Mochen thought that if the situation was truly as Nanette described, then this business deal wasn't impossible. However, there seemed to be considerable room for negotiation on pricing, especially regarding escort forces—no matter how many, it wouldn't be enough.

"Thank you, Ms. Drew. This intelligence is valuable; I owe you a favor. But I guess you came to see me at this hour because there's something you want to discuss, right?"

It was already nine o'clock in the evening. If not for something important, she wouldn't have visited at this time.

"Of course."

Nanette Drew's tone was calm: "I came here for two reasons. First, about your comic. I've read all your drafts, and I admire your talent, BOSS."

Li Mochen was noncommittal. He had long since lost any obsession with his comic. Since he had already bought the publishing house, he might as well play around with it. He didn't think that Nanette Drew, an elite in the newspaper industry, would genuinely appreciate his drafts. Words like 'admire' were probably just polite remarks. The next sentence might be to scrap the publishing plan to save money and cut losses.

But Nanette's next words surprised Li Mochen: "I think this draft has great potential. If handled well, it could become our publishing house's biggest profit point this year. So one purpose of my visit is to request that you, BOSS, complete the remaining parts if you have time. Personally, I have one dissatisfaction: the comic isn't realistic or professional enough."

"Not realistic? Not professional?" Li Mochen was puzzled. "I'd like to hear more."

"It's about the combat—too sloppy. As far as I know, BOSS is a magic swordsman with superb combat skills? I'm sure you have at least 10S-level combat techniques."

Nanette explained: "I want the combat scenes in the comic to be more热血, more realistic and professional in certain parts. Hmm, how to put it? Not the common, conventional techniques, but surprising, eye-catching moves."

Li Mochen fell into thought: "To attract readers who love cold weapon combat?"

"And to attract your fans, while increasing the story's authenticity. It's also a great selling point. I can use my media connections to promote it widely in the shortest time."

Nanette drained the red wine in her glass: "Your red wine is excellent, BOSS. It's an '87 Bordeaux, right?"

"It's provided by the Nathan Group. I know nothing about wine."

Li Mochen shook his head: "Your idea is good, ma'am. I'll seriously consider it. And the second matter? Is it about tomorrow's board restructuring of the Georgia Post?"

He thought that if it were just about the comic, this lady wouldn't have come to his apartment late at night.

They could have discussed it the next day, since they would be together for the next few days to reorganize the Georgia Post and restructure the board.

Although Mr. Mottdale had previously assured Li Mochen that some board members were professional and trustworthy, as the controlling shareholder with 62.3% equity, Li Mochen had to infuse his own power and will into the board.

"I have no objections. I'm very satisfied with the list of directors you've proposed, BOSS."

Nanette Drew looked out the window with a meaningful gaze: "I came at this hour because someone predicted that a storm would hit here tonight. It might be dangerous, but driven by a journalist's curiosity and concern for my future, I decided to risk coming to see for myself."

"A storm?"

Li Mochen's expression turned serious. He stood up, walked to the floor-to-ceiling window, and looked out thoughtfully: "Ms. Drew, I'd like to know where you got this information. Can you give me more details?"

"I can't reveal the source. It's a good friend who doesn't want to be known. But I can relay his exact words—"

Nanette Drew lowered her voice: "Tonight, magic professionals will attack Unicorn Apartments. He told me absolutely not to come near here tonight. There might be a bloody incident in this building. Only the top floor, the source of the disaster, might survive."

"Is this information accurate?"

Li Mochen had already activated his True Dragon Vision and used the Titan's Eye to observe the scene outside.

He was secretly amazed: if there was a threat, why did he feel nothing? His Heavenly Heart Illumination had reached the fourth level. Though it was straying off course, it was still fourth-level Heavenly Heart Illumination, enough to sense any hostility that could harm him. Of course, except for gods and immortals.

"Any more detailed intelligence? I assume they must be very strong to break into Unicorn Apartments? How many level 17s? I guess more than ten?"

After all, inside this building, there were about forty outlaws above 13A. Some belonged to Unicorn Apartments' own security, some came from Angela, and the remaining dozen or so were from Li Mochen's sponsors and endorsers. Among them were even two 15S-level magic shooters.

Currently, in all of Atlanta, Unicorn Apartments' defensive strength could definitely rank in the top fifty.

To break into this building, more than ten level 17S was the most conservative estimate. And it would take a lot of time—maybe one or two hours to finish.

"There might be only two or three people."

Nanette Drew looked at Li Mochen with sympathy: "But all are legendary rank. This is a raid, an assassination. They'll strike quickly."

"Legendary, huh?"

Li Mochen's expression relaxed slightly: "Then what level, roughly?"

The legendary realm also had ranks, usually divided into five levels. Just like from Mahayana to Tribulation Transcendence, there was still a long way to go.

"My friend didn't say, but I personally guess it won't exceed the second level."

Nanette Drew was slightly surprised to find that the young man before her showed no sign of tension or fear.

"I suggest you gather your people now, BOSS. I know your personal combat strength is quite good, right?"

"No need."

Li Mochen turned and looked at Hazel Wiltonstein not far behind: "Hazel, would you mind lending me your body?"

After receiving Hazel's affirmative reply, Li Mochen also drained the red wine in his hand: "Then congratulations to them—tonight, they've walked into a dragon's nest."
