Chapter 357: Rage and Hatred

Destiny's Dominion · 第三五七章 怒恨

……

Half an hour later, when Delfinia Adric emerged from the astral plane and returned to the world of light, her body was still in a state of mutilation.

The sniper bullet, the moment it entered her body, had exploded into millions of metallic particles, laced with potent poison that continuously killed her cells and flesh.

Beyond that, a strange force was flowing through the body of the Void Night Monarch—a fusion of fire and ice, two utterly distinct and even opposing forces intertwined, constantly shifting. It made her body suddenly burn like a furnace, melting her flesh, and then suddenly freeze so cold that her internal organs were directly frozen solid.

Delfinia had to muster her mental source power, ceaselessly resisting these two forces.

But as time passed, her aura grew weaker, and her consciousness began to blur. The journey through the astral plane and the struggle against this strange force had drained her vitality.

Fortunately, she had found the correct coordinates; the location after leaving the astral plane was a base set up by the Inhumans fifteen hundred kilometers from Atlanta.

As soon as Delfinia appeared, a crowd of figures in white lab coats rushed over. They first transferred her to a surgery room full of sci-fi feel, then connected her to high-tech medical equipment and injected various drugs and serums.

Two of the medical staff, when cutting open the skin on her leg with scalpels, were directly ignited by the crimson flames spilling from her body, turning to ash in an instant. Three others were frozen into ice sculptures in less than 0.01 seconds. Yet this did not frighten the Inhumans; they remained fully focused, using skilled and precise techniques to extract the tiny shrapnel buried deep in her body, help expel the foreign forces, and use various drugs to restore Delfinia's body.

A full hour and a half later, Delfinia's body was finally restored to wholeness.

At that moment, she weakly opened her eyes.

"Thank you for your hard work this time. Please evacuate from here as soon as possible! The FBI will find this place within an hour at most."

After the many medical staff had withdrawn from the surgery room, Delfinia reached into the void and grabbed a magical artifact resembling a makeup mirror.

In the mirror's surface, a black figure materialized—a man with fish-scale-like markings on his face.

"How is it? Delfinia, you look very weak?"

"This injury is severe. I estimate it will take at least half a year to recover."

Delfinia gave a light cough, and a trace of blood appeared at the corner of her lips: "Notify the action teams to prepare for evacuation."

"Evacuation?"

The man showed no strong resistance but reminded her: "But we've already alerted the enemy. The various agencies of the American Federation will definitely be on guard against us."

"I know, but now our most critical link is missing. In this battle, we've also lost two legends."

Delfinia half-closed her eyes: "This is my fault. I'll find a way to make up for it. But before that, we can't make unnecessary sacrifices."

"Understood. I'll issue the notification to them now."

Then the black-clad man changed the subject: "Delf, can you determine the identities of the sniper and that demigod?"

"It's a dragon demigod—white dragon, black dragon, or red dragon. That stench is unique to chromatic dragons. The sniper, I'm not sure. He might be very strong, terrifyingly strong, or he might not even be a legend."

As Delfinia spoke, she looked at her hands. Beneath the skin, the flesh was still enduring the strange force of alternating cold and heat, extreme cold and extreme heat.

"Don't worry about this matter. I'll find them out myself."

After saying this, she directly terminated the communication with the black-clad man. But right after, another figure appeared on the mirror's surface. It was a man in an expensive suit, with thick but neatly combed hair. His face was pale, and his eyes were almost spitting fire.

Seeing this person, Delfinia's eyes narrowed slightly: "Otto?"

This man was Soran Otto, vice chairman and CEO of Light Magic Industries.

"I want to know, what exactly is the situation now?"

The man in the mirror was clearly very angry, but his voice remained relatively calm: "I heard you were severely injured, and Anthony, he was rescued, right?"

"A minor setback."

Delfinia gave a light snort: "I will definitely do what I promised you."

"But you have no chance, Delfinia! Do you think Anthony Braden is just anyone? He will never give us a second chance!"

Soran Otto sighed without any hope: "Let's call it a day. Our cooperation is temporarily suspended. I can no longer provide the subsequent funds, unless the Inhumans can show me results within the next two months. Please note, Your Highness the Void Night Monarch, the FBI has already deployed two demigods to pursue you."

As the last word was spoken, the silver-white makeup mirror fell completely 'still,' returning to normal.

But at that moment, Delfinia spat out another mouthful of blood. At the same time, a large amount of cold air and crimson flames spilled from her body.

Meanwhile, a crimson intent appeared in the girl's pupils, and an endless killing intent spread all the way into the astral void.

……

Ten hours later, at the gymnasium of Lynden Academy.

On the same ring, Li Mochen was almost knocking away the sparring outlaws one by one with his sword, sending them flying. Only the last one remained, who simply raised both hands in surrender.

Due to the source armor and training protective gear, none of them were injured. But they all, without exception, flew more than twenty meters off the ring, leaving everyone present dumbfounded.

"Wow, that's truly exquisite swordsmanship."

Carl, below the ring, exclaimed: "Amo, you'll make the audience lose all interest in watching the matches."

But because of this, his heart was completely at ease. Beside Carl, the representatives of Edward Jewelry and Elizabeth Cosmetics had very interesting expressions on their faces.

How to put it? The situation now was that the five opponents combined were no match for Li Mochen. And what they were agonizing over was that this kind of one-sided battle process was not conducive to Li Mochen gaining fans.

The reason the five-person team battle firmly attracted the largest audience in America was precisely the confrontation between two teams, the cooperation and tactics of team members.

But now, Li Mochen had used his strength to erase the audience's greatest pleasure.

"Amo!"

Angela glared with wide eyes, staring angrily at Li Mochen: "What are you doing? Please be serious, OK? This isn't something you can solve alone."
