Chapter 421: Total Annihilation

Destiny's Dominion · 第四二一章 全灭

With the gunshot, two magic-energy professionals beside the armored vehicle were shot in the head in quick succession. The legendary sniper shots prevented them from using any life-saving measures, their bodies blasted into fragments.

At the same moment, the construct puppet 'Big White' erupted into action. The two Vulcan cannons on its shoulders opened fire at full power, forcing the three nearby enemies back several steps. Then a sword light spun and sliced, bisecting a magic-energy berserker who was closest.

But at that moment, in a building a kilometer from the assassination scene, a figure in a white coat laughed instead of being angry. His figure flickered, and with the help of equipment, he crossed the void, appearing on the twenty-seventh floor of another building. He let out a grating voice like a saw cutting: 'You couldn't hold back any longer, Michael Wood!'

The two daggers in his hands stabbed at the black figure retreating from the previous sniper position. But the white-coated man's full-force strike was blocked by another legendary construct puppet, 'Two White'. Its weapons differed slightly from Big White's: a door-sized shield and a massive Viking axe, similar to a shield warrior's gear.

It not only firmly blocked the white-coated man's daggers but also swung the Viking axe in a counter-slash, the immense source energy carving a deep gash through the ceiling and floor.

Yet the white-coated man dodged perfectly. From his sleeves, countless hidden arrows sprayed toward the area behind 'Two White', while he chuckled: 'You must have forgotten me, Spirit Dagger Sarich. I've always remembered the shot you put in my shoulder.'

At this moment, Michael was in dire straits. He was not only facing Spirit Dagger Sarich but also four other legends. The onslaught came like a tide, leaving him hard-pressed. Though this major general also held an eighteenth-level magic-energy warrior class, close combat was not his forte. Fighting one against four, he was pushed to the brink in just a few exchanges. Fortunately, 'Two White' went all out, its two shoulder-mounted Vulcan cannons spewing bullets at maximum speed, and twenty micro-missiles launched from its thighs, allowing it to face five legends head-on.

Not far from the building, high in the air, a legendary magic-energy mage was casting Dimensional Lock—a spatial spell more powerful than Dimensional Anchor—trapping Michael Wood firmly in this space, and was now preparing a new spell.

'No need to resist, Michael!'

The main attacker was a legendary second-level berserker. Each swing of his axe caused the building, which had already activated its magic-energy defense array, to tremble violently, with dust and debris raining down.

'Our target has always been you. If you surrender now, we can let you live. Our boss admires your talent. You've done enough for your master—'

But across from him, Michael Wood's face showed a mocking smile: 'You're very confident, but unfortunately, I should be the one saying that!'

At that moment, the legendary magic-energy mage hovering three hundred meters away suddenly stiffened slightly, his magic energy nearly in chaos. Countless magic-energy chains appeared from nothing, binding his body.

Then, in less than a thousandth of a second, the man's head exploded with a 'bang', blasted into fragments. If a legendary-rank expert had been observing closely, they would have recognized it as a Minié ball from the flintlock era, but its power was astonishing, producing an annihilation effect that reduced the legendary mage, body and all, to dust.

At the same time, a clear, penetrating voice vibrated in everyone's eardrums.

'Greater Slow!'

In that instant, the attack speed and movement speed of all five legends present, except Michael Wood and Two White, uncontrollably dropped by at least forty percent.

Michael Wood easily broke free from the combined assault of the five, abandoned his melee weapon, and calmly took up his second-level holy relic, the sniper rifle 'Fury of the Fire God'.

'Chaos Imprisonment!'

In that moment, Spirit Dagger Sarich's body froze in midair. The power of void chaos locked his body and soul firmly in place.

This twenty-fourth-level abjuration spell left the first-level legendary shadow dancer unable to escape by any means. Pale-faced, he could only let the charging 'Two White' smash his head and then blast his remains to pieces with the remaining micro-missiles from its legs.

Meanwhile, Michael Wood had already fired two shots. The first narrowly missed the legendary berserker, but the second hit his shoulder, exploding in a spray of blood.

As the berserker's body involuntarily leaned back from the bullet's impact, a Minié ball flew in from the side, striking his temple. The violent annihilation force instantly shattered his head and blasted the upper half of the legendary berserker's body to dust.

At this moment, the remaining three legendary experts were all shaken to the core, nearly terrified out of their wits. Almost without thinking, they tried to flee.

But the hidden fourth-level legendary mage had already cast Dimensional Anchor on them in near-instantaneous fashion, preventing them from escaping this space in a short time. They could only flicker and move at their maximum speed toward the distance. Unanimously, they fled northward in Atlanta, the only direction in the city where people and power could shelter them. Yet the twenty-fourth-level Greater Slow spell meant that even with various spell scrolls, they could only reach thirty percent of their full speed.

'See? I told you, I should be the one saying that. No need to resist, gentlemen. You can't escape today. This is the feast my boss has prepared for you—'

Michael Wood moved his eye to the scope, a cold smile on his face. His mind was exceptionally focused, and blue patterns covered his body.

—This was a talent, an ability only those who had awakened divine bloodline and were gifted could possess.

As Michael pulled the trigger, a 'bang' rang out. The waist of a man nine hundred meters away was shattered by his bullet. As that body froze, another Minié ball followed, blasting half of the man's body to dust.

At the same time, another person was intercepted by 'Big White', which had already taken position. Its thighs opened to reveal magazines, and from the honeycomb-like holes, dozens of micro-missiles spewed out, making the opponent extremely flustered.

Then Lind Embers' spell arrived again.

'Legendary Disintegration!'

In an instant, the man's body was decomposed into dust by a green light that pierced through the air.

The last remaining legendary monk had barely fled less than three kilometers. His figure had already entered Michael Wood's scope. The retired major general's lips curled into a cruel arc.

'Running so slowly, you're dead, boy!'
