Chapter 486: Another Battle
Destiny's Dominion · 第四八六章 再战
"Beautiful!"
In Box 4, Angela excitedly pumped her fist, then hugged Lina beside her. Still not satisfied, she opened the window to listen to the laughter and cheers coming from outside.
Below her box's stands, there happened to be a group of female fans from the same place.
"Wow, see that? So cool! If there were a poster of this scene, I'd definitely buy it."
"So cool! Too cool, That's cool!"
"I really want to marry him. If they made a poster or photobook, I'd lick it. Like this—"
"Haha, you're disgusting."
"That pose, black hair swinging, cold and cool, truly my prince."
"I admit, I'm really moved. I want to buy the latest Prince set from Nathan Group."
Delfinia found this somewhat speechless, yet she had to admit it. The figure repeatedly shown on the big screen was indeed very handsome. Whether face or body, it was very beautiful, yet not lacking in masculinity.
This person seemed born for the camera, with a 360-degree flawless appearance. From any angle, he could captivate women who liked him.
Lina, however, didn't trust the commentator's explanation and turned to ask Delfinia: "Delf, do you know what's going on?"
"Simple, that guy's opponent isn't yet adapted to high-level mage combat. And Andre wisely seized on that. Using Felton Williams's suddenly amplified perception to deceive—"
Delfinia's tone held a hint of admiration she herself hadn't noticed: "After becoming a God's Chosen, Williams's perception increased countless times, but his analytical ability couldn't keep up, unable to discern Andre's true intent. Then your future master, he's especially good at deception."
Just then, Felton Williams stepped onto the stage again after a brief adjustment, and Delfinia turned her gaze to him.
"But his god has realized this and is lowering Williams's divine perception. Sensing too many details only interferes with his judgment. Now I'm looking forward to their next clash. If Andre insists on using only power no higher than a ninth-level magic-energy professional, then—"
…
When facing Li Mochen again, Felton Williams had regained his composure. Though the previous failure was embarrassing, it was just one mistake; he could still defeat the man before him, showing most Americans his incompetence and weakness.
He felt that the great deity had temporarily revoked part of the mystical perception granted to him. But Williams thought this was good; the upcoming battle would return to the track he was familiar with.
"Begin!"
The head referee on stage didn't count down but directly waved the red flag between them. From the stands on both sides came a roar like an avalanche, even louder than before. The platinum-haired crowd on the west side pounded their seats with water bottles, chanting in unison. Williams's supporters also screamed hoarsely, trying to pour their strength into the contestant on stage, hoping he would win cleanly and reverse the previous decline.
Both contestants on stage were preparing spells, layering enhancement-type magic on themselves.
"You think you've won? You underestimate me, despise me."
Though Williams had only recently taken on the role of an eleventh-level magic-energy mage, he could cast high-level spells like 'Virtual Divine Body' and 'Mythical Physique' at the seventeenth level without incantations or gestures.
He completed his magical enhancements before Li Mochen and then strode forward.
To avoid repeating past mistakes, Williams swung his arms, weaving a dense sword curtain before him to guard against any possible attack. The half-meter-long source-force blades extending from his sword tips could shatter everything in front of him.
This forward advance, like a steamroller or a porcupine, seemed to leave Li Mochen helpless, forcing him to retreat. Just as Williams was about to accelerate his pursuit, a voice sounded in his ear: "Beware the ground—"
But before him, Li Mochen had already completed an elegant, elf-like spinning slash, while beneath Williams's feet, a huge stone pillar thrust violently upward from the ground!
When did this—
Williams's train of thought couldn't continue; the stone pillar was immediately crushed by his source-force-enhanced foot. Yet his body was still lifted a foot higher by the spell called 'Stone Fang Thrust'.
And this unexpected foot of height caused a slight change in his otherwise flawless defense.
Li Mochen's sword slashed in from his waist side, not very fast, but the angle was extremely tricky. Any last-minute adjustment Felton Williams made failed to intercept the blade. Then his whole body was sent flying again, crashing violently three meters outside the ring, then sliding another twenty-two meters before stopping.
The entire stadium fell into dead silence again.
"Still deception. I told you, he's good at deception—"
In Box 4, Delfinia exhaled again: "Canceling the divine perception instead gave his extreme magic-energy control room to play. This is the mage's way of fighting—but I don't know when he pre-set that spell underground."
Though due to the distance, Delfinia indeed hadn't sensed any trace of Li Mochen casting 'Stone Fang Thrust', not even a hint of magic-energy fluctuation.
Had this guy's magical skill reached this level?
Only after Delfinia finished speaking did the Temple Stadium erupt in noise again. The piercing screams nearly pierced the stadium's dome.
The live commentator was once again somewhat incoherent: "Another round! One round! I don't know what to say anymore. Williams was knocked out of the ring the moment they clashed. The referee has raised the flag; as expected, five points! A fatal blow. In fact, if this were a real fight, Williams would be dead. He was clearly deceived; the opponent's magic perfectly evaded his perception."
"It's incredible. Our Andre still uses only magical abilities no higher than a ninth-level magic-energy swordsman, and his displayed speed and strength are just average. Yet he easily defeated Williams, who is acknowledged to rival high-level extra-legal practitioners. Everyone guessed wrong; this is not a battle between two monsters, but a commoner tormenting a monster. This is the charm of combat technique!"
"After the match ends, please don't leave, don't leave! We've invited guests, two retired boxing champions and three all-stars, to analyze this match for everyone."
