Chapter 848: The Visitor
Heaven-Shaker · 第848章 来客
Although the muttering was not loud, it still reached the ears of those nearby, and their gazes fell on this refined young man.
“Eh, I know this person. He’s a human youth adopted by the Medicine God Valley, rumored to be a divine body.”
“That’s right, I’ve heard of this too. They say his combat power is extraordinary; he once went out and fought with outstanding disciples of various great sects without a single defeat. Truly fearsome.”
The crowd buzzed with discussion, but many eyes were fixed on the woman in white. Her extraordinary aura made her the center of attention wherever she went.
Ever since she began refining the blood of the Five-Colored Divine Phoenix, Yuanxia had undergone another transformation, inadvertently exuding a noble bearing that made others even more envious.
Scorned by Jiu Bingyan, the refined young man’s expression did not change. He then said to Yuanxia, “I am Murong Feng of the Medicine God Valley. My earlier behavior was indeed rash; I hope you will not take offense, miss.”
“Sister Yuan, let’s go.” Jiu Bingyan, with her fiery temper, seemed unconcerned about his self-introduction and walked forward.
“Stop right there! You little girl are too insolent. When the master is speaking, what right do you have to interrupt?” The old woman beside Murong Feng’s face darkened as she stepped forward to block their path, barking.
“When your master is speaking, what right do you, a servant, have to interrupt?” Jiu Bingyan retorted, not backing down.
“You…!” The old woman’s face instantly flushed red, and she couldn’t help raising her hand, on the verge of exploding.
“What? You want to start a fight?” Jiu Bingyan looked at the furious old woman and raised her voice, making a scene.
“Outrageous! Withdraw at once! Have you no manners at all?” Murong Feng glanced at the old woman and scolded her.
Hearing this, the old woman’s face darkened, but she obeyed the order, lowering her hand and stepping back.
“The servant is ignorant; please do not blame her, miss. May I ask for your name?” Murong Feng kept his eyes on the woman ahead, then spoke with a smile, appearing graceful.
Yang Tian glanced at Murong Feng with interest, then walked over. Under the stunned gaze of the crowd, he placed his hand on Yuanxia’s slender waist, gently pulling her into his embrace, and looked calmly at the man’s unpleasant expression.
“Good heavens, where did this kid come from? This woman’s transcendent aura—even the holy maidens of the great sects can’t compare.”
“Who knows? With such an intimate gesture, their relationship is clearly special.”
Yuanxia’s body stiffened slightly at the sudden move. She seemed to want to speak but hesitated, a ripple of emotion flickering in her bright eyes, making her heart-stirring.
Seeing such a captivating expression, Murong Feng wished he could go up and lift the woman’s veil to behold her immortal beauty.
“Let’s go.” Yang Tian said with a faint smile, holding the jade-like beauty in his arms as they walked ahead.
With a cold expression, Murong Feng watched their receding figures, his hands clenched, a hint of shame and anger in his eyes.
“Master, that brat is too hateful. I think…” The old woman approached, speaking in a low voice.
“Hmph, you’re always coming up with crooked ideas. If it weren’t for your schemes last time with the little phoenix, she would be dead by now!” Murong Feng glared fiercely at the old woman.
“This servant deserves death.” The old woman was filled with fear and lingering dread; if this matter were to leak out, it would be a huge disaster.
Walking along the path, Yang Tian’s gaze swept over the endless medicinal herbs, feeling an urge to take them all away.
Little White suddenly popped out from somewhere, snorting and puffing, its body flowing with essence, having eaten something good.
“Elder, it’s him! I can smell the princess’s aura!” In the distance, a figure with a hazy aura fixed his eyes on Yang Tian and said to an old man beside him.
Hearing this, a gleam flashed in the old man’s eyes. He became excited instantly, but then his face filled with murderous intent as he walked forward step by step.
“Look, it’s an elder of the Medicine God Valley. That old monster has lived for who knows how many years.”
“Indeed, last time he went out and visited the great sects—truly fearsome.”
“Alas, they say the little princess of the Medicine God Valley is a divine medicine, but no one knows if it’s true. Unfortunately, she’s lost.”
Hearing the surrounding discussions, Yang Tian’s gaze fell on the old man. When he saw the old man coming toward him, he frowned slightly.
The old man approached, observed this human youth, then looked at the others, his eyes filled with uncertainty.
These people were all extraordinary, especially that little one, who gave him a fierce and overwhelming aura, like a terrifying beast.
“What business do you have, elder?” Yang Tian asked. He thought he had not offended this clan. If it was about Yuanxia, then this clan, one of the most powerful forces in the Great Wilderness, would be unworthy of its reputation.
Hearing this, the old man pondered for a moment, then said earnestly, “Young friend, would you come to my residence for a chat? I have some private matters to ask you.”
Yang Tian frowned, glanced at the old man, and said indifferently, “What is it, elder? Can’t we talk here?”
“This matter is of great importance. I hope you can understand.” The old man lowered his posture and spoke loudly enough for those around to hear, in order to allay his suspicions.
Yang Tian nodded and did not refuse further. The four of them followed the old man inside.
“Why is the Medicine God Valley elder inviting him?” The people around were surprised. This elder was a formidable expert, and inviting a junior astonished them.
A hint of doubt flashed in Murong Feng’s eyes, along with a vague sense of unease. After a moment’s hesitation, he followed closely.
The Medicine God Valley was vast, with crisscrossing paths lined with various spiritual herbs, and relatively few people around.
Passing through a small path, Yang Tian’s view opened up. Before him was a magnificent palace complex, surrounded by flowing springs and waterfalls, the scenery extremely beautiful.
Moreover, one could see ancient medicinal fields here and there, planted with very rare herbs, and some rare spiritual creatures darting about.
“No wonder it’s one of the strongest forces in the Great Wilderness.” Yang Tian’s eyes roamed around, nodding repeatedly.
“May I ask which clan the young friend belongs to?” Along the way, the elder began to inquire about his background.
“Just a wandering cultivator, not worth mentioning.” Yang Tian smiled.
“A wandering cultivator.” A hint of disbelief appeared in the old man’s eyes. He could sense that this youth was very powerful, his body shrouded in haze—far from an ordinary person.
At that moment, they arrived at a towering, majestic mountain. The atmosphere here was somewhat oppressive, as if they had entered a forbidden land.
“Elder, what is the meaning of this?” Sensing something amiss, Yang Tian and the others stopped, shouting.
“Old man, you’re not planning to harm us, are you?” The little one looked around, swallowing from time to time. There were too many spiritual herbs here; he had almost been caught stealing a few earlier.
The old man’s mouth twitched involuntarily. He glanced at Little White, then smiled. “I just want to ask you one thing, young friend. If you tell me honestly, I can give you enough benefits, and you can choose any herb here!”
