Chapter 1063: Trip to Thailand

Rebirth of a Perfect Future · 第1063章 泰国行

Human logic, most of the time, follows fixed patterns of thinking.

For instance, if a husband reports his wife missing, most people's first reaction is that the wife either ran away or was murdered; no one would cast suspicion on the husband.

That is a fixed pattern of thinking.

Those top graduates from Future Advertising's Strategic Research Department made the same mistake.

They instinctively assumed that the company's integration plan was ultimately aimed at consolidating resources to form a large conglomerate.

After all, they had always worked at Future Advertising, so when drafting the plan, they unconsciously treated Future Advertising as the main entity.

As for the other proposal, what dissatisfied Zhao Fusheng was that these people seemed to only see the development of the real economy, ignoring the future prosperity of the virtual electronic economy.

After reviewing the proposals, Zhao Fusheng simply dialed Zheng Yao's number.

“Both proposals are unqualified.”

Zhao Fusheng said to Zheng Yao without preamble: “If those people in the Strategic Research Department are only at this level, I think you might consider recruiting a new group.”

Zheng Yao was startled: “What’s wrong?”

She had been feeling a bit drowsy, but Zhao Fusheng's words instantly perked her up.

Zhao Fusheng sighed: “They simply don’t understand why I want to integrate the resources of these companies.”

Zheng Yao frowned; clearly, she was also curious about what Zhao Fusheng would say next.

You see, before this, the companies under Zhao Fusheng's name had each been operating fairly well on their own. Even when Future Film and Television encountered some difficulties, overall, it wasn't that daunting.

But Zhao Fusheng insisted on integrating resources and merging all his assets into a group company. Although she hadn't said it out loud, Zheng Yao was actually very curious in her heart.

“Now, the main industries we are involved in, besides the internet, are advertising and entertainment. Have you ever thought about what we would do if the industry hits a cold spell?” Zhao Fusheng said calmly.

Zheng Yao was taken aback, and then heard Zhao Fusheng continue: “A single tree does not make a forest; fighting alone will never amount to much. If we continue the old way, at best these companies can become top players in their respective industries, but going further won’t be so easy.”

“So that’s why you want to merge the companies and form a group?” Zheng Yao asked doubtfully.

Zhao Fusheng nodded: “Yes, integrate resources, consolidate departments, clench all our strength into a fist, and simultaneously start laying out plans in multiple industries. I hope that in ten years, the future group will not just be a company, but a name that anyone who mentions it will hold in great reverence.”

Zheng Yao really hadn’t expected Zhao Fusheng’s ambition to be so grand.

Even after hanging up the phone, she kept thinking about Zhao Fusheng’s words, gradually piecing together the outline of his plan.

In the blink of an eye, a week passed.

Zhao Fusheng’s trip to the United States was ultimately postponed.

There was no help for it; that guy Jerry moved quickly. Through connections at the Hong Kong Commercial Bank, he managed to contact Chen Zhishen, the current head of Bangkok Bank.

Although the chairman of Bangkok Bank was still Chen Youhan, his son Chen Zhishen had been the bank’s president since the 1990s.

After receiving the materials submitted by Future Investment, Bangkok Bank took it quite seriously. Chen Zhishen invited Zhao Fusheng to visit Thailand, intending to meet him in person.

After some consideration, Zhao Fusheng ultimately agreed to the request.

And so, during this rainy season, Zhao Fusheng appeared in Bangkok, Thailand.

It was already past nine in the morning, but the sky outside the window remained dim and overcast, with a fine drizzle drifting down.

“It’s been raining like this for four days,” said Jerry, who had accompanied Zhao Fusheng to Bangkok, helplessly.

Zhao Fusheng gave a light laugh but said nothing.

As Jerry had said, the weather had been bad since they arrived in Bangkok, with continuous rain.

They said this kind of monsoon-like weather in Bangkok was quite normal; the climate here was humid year-round, often shrouded by the rainy season.

“Good food is worth the wait; don’t rush,” Zhao Fusheng said with a smile, glancing at the somewhat anxious Jerry.

Jerry was startled, then gave a wry smile: “Boss, aren’t you worried at all?”

“Why should I be worried?” Zhao Fusheng looked at Jerry and asked calmly.

Jerry was stunned; he hadn’t expected Zhao Fusheng to answer him like that. He looked at Zhao Fusheng in surprise: “Boss, are you really that confident that Bangkok Bank will definitely give us a loan?”

He truly couldn’t understand where Zhao Fusheng’s confidence came from. After all, there had been no prior business dealings between Bangkok Bank and Future Investment, or between Bangkok Bank and Zhao Fusheng. It would be perfectly reasonable if they refused to cooperate.

Zhao Fusheng waved his hand: “First, I’m not in urgent need of money right now, so I’m not desperate for this loan cooperation. Second, for me, or for both me and Bangkok Bank, this meeting is just a probe. Whether we can cooperate or not isn’t the key; what matters is letting the other side see our sincerity.”

“Sincerity?” Jerry frowned, somewhat puzzled.

Clearly, despite having studied in China for several years, Jerry still couldn’t grasp the profound nuances of Chinese vocabulary.

For instance, in business, he saw it as pure commercial interest—just lay out the terms and negotiate. But the Chinese always talked about “sincerity,” which he found hard to understand.

Nevertheless, Zhao Fusheng was the boss. In Jerry’s American way of thinking, business belonged to the boss; as long as he got paid, whatever the boss said went.

“No need to rush; we’ll just keep waiting,” Zhao Fusheng said with a faint smile.

Standing by the window, watching the drizzling rain outside, his mood was actually very calm. Whatever the reason, since Bangkok Bank had invited him, they would surely meet. Perhaps the other side was avoiding him now for some other reason. But in Zhao Fusheng’s view, it didn’t really matter.

Cooperation depends on whether each side has value for the other. Perhaps all his information was already on the desk of President Chen Zhishen at this very moment.

Of course, Zhao Fusheng also had a copy of Bangkok Bank’s information in his hands.

Both were foxes of a thousand years; why play tricks?
