Chapter 0135 Sister Hua

Rebirth of a Perfect Future · 第0135章 华姐

The consequence of their strenuous mountain climbing was that the next morning, both Zhou Yun and Fan Baobao lay sprawled on the bed like mud, unwilling to move an inch.

Even when Zhao Fusheng told Fan Baobao that she should meet with the agent who wanted to sign her for negotiations today, Fan Baobao simply tossed him a phone number, said she wasn't leaving the dorm today, and hung up decisively.

Holding the phone, Zhao Fusheng could only shake his head with a wry smile; he really had no way to deal with this girl Fan Baobao.

Fortunately, the phone number wasn't long. After Zhao Fusheng called, a woman answered. Upon learning that he was Fan Baobao's guardian, she readily agreed to meet near the Central Academy of Drama.

"I'm staying at the Lihua Hotel opposite the Central Academy of Drama, Room 307." After giving his address and setting a time, Zhao Fusheng hung up.

Sitting in the room, he rubbed his chin, deep in thought.

Zhao Fusheng never hesitated to interpret others' intentions with the utmost malice, and then do his utmost to accomplish a task. The logic was simple: think of the worst and strive for the best, so that high hopes wouldn't lead to great disappointment.

After all, the inner world of a middle-aged man is often pessimistic. Having been struck by social reality too many times, it's hard for anyone to maintain a pure heart.

This woman surnamed Wang, since she dared to claim she would be Fan Baobao's agent, seemed to have some connections in the industry. What Zhao Fusheng was considering now was what she could bring to Fan Baobao.

Soon, footsteps sounded outside the door, followed by a knock.

"Come in," Zhao Fusheng said loudly, looking up from the magazine he was reading on the sofa.

The door wasn't locked; he had deliberately left it ajar. After all, the visitor was a woman, and it was better to avoid any suspicion.

To avoid gossip, Zhao Fusheng didn't want to give anyone a handle against him.

The door opened, and a woman walked in. Zhao Fusheng was stunned at the sight of her. She looked about forty, quite elegant, and though not a stunning beauty, her gestures suggested she might be an actress.

"Hello, I'm Zhao Fusheng, Fan Baobao's guardian." He stood up, extending his hand in greeting.

"Wang Jinghua, I'm an agent now." The woman shook his hand confidently, then showed a hint of embarrassment: "I don't have a business card, sorry about that."

In those days, going to a negotiation without a business card was quite a loss of face.

Zhao Fusheng chuckled: "You're too kind. I don't have one either, so we're even."

Wang Jinghua was taken aback. She hadn't expected this ordinary-looking young man to be so tactful. With a simple sentence, he eased her embarrassment and brought them closer.

"Please, have a seat." Zhao Fusheng gestured for Wang Jinghua to sit and smiled at her: "If you don't mind, may I call you Sister Hua?"

"Of course, of course." Wang Jinghua was happy to get closer, but she probed: "Xiao Zhao, what's your relationship with Fan Baobao?"

After all, they had different surnames, and Zhao Fusheng claimed to be her guardian, which piqued Wang Jinghua's curiosity.

"We grew up together. I can make decisions for her." Zhao Fusheng smiled. "Don't worry, Sister Hua, I'm not a bad person."

"No, no, I didn't mean that. Don't misunderstand." Wang Jinghua waved her hand. "It's just that I thought the guardian she mentioned would be her mother or father..."

That was the truth. No matter how wild Wang Jinghua's imagination, she couldn't have guessed that the person Fan Baobao said could make decisions for her was someone about her age.

Though Zhao Fusheng seemed more mature and steady, discussing Fan Baobao's matters with him still felt a bit unreliable to Wang Jinghua.

Zhao Fusheng laughed, seeming to understand what Wang Jinghua was thinking. After a moment's thought, he asked, "Sister Hua, do you have a mobile phone?"

"Ah?" Wang Jinghua was startled, then replied, "Yes."

She then pulled out her mobile phone and handed it to Zhao Fusheng: "Do you need to use it?"

She thought Zhao Fusheng wanted to call Fan Baobao.

Zhao Fusheng smiled without explaining. He took the phone, weighed it in his hand, and casually dialed his home number, pressing the speakerphone button.

"Hello?" After a few beeps, Li Yuan's voice came through.

"Auntie, it's Fusheng." Zhao Fusheng glanced at Wang Jinghua and said, "Someone in Beijing wants to sign Baobao to their company. Baobao discussed it with me, and I plan to talk with them."

"Oh, go ahead. If you think it's suitable, help her make a good decision." Li Yuan was startled but replied.

"Okay, I understand." Zhao Fusheng smiled. Before he could finish, Li Yuan handed the phone to Zhao's mother.

"Fusheng, have you seen Baobao?" Zhao's mother's voice came through.

"Yeah, I took her hiking yesterday. Today she's dead set on not getting up." Zhao Fusheng said with a smile.

"Buy her more food and clothes. Since we're not around, she's sure to be stingy with spending..." Zhao's mother added a few more instructions before hanging up.

Putting down the phone, Zhao Fusheng looked at Wang Jinghua: "Sister Hua, do you believe me now?"

Wang Jinghua was dumbfounded. After a long pause, she said, "Do your families live together?"

Zhao Fusheng's expression turned serious. He looked intently at Wang Jinghua: "Sister Hua, before I explain this to you, can you promise me one thing?"

"What is it? If I can do it, I'll do my best." Wang Jinghua didn't agree outright but gave a seemingly ambiguous answer.

Zhao Fusheng smiled. If Wang Jinghua had made a sweeping promise, he wouldn't have dared to continue. Her cautious response was exactly what an agent should be, which reassured him.

"Here's the thing: if I agree to let Baobao sign with your agency, I hope you can take care of her and ensure she's not bullied by the industry's unspoken rules. I can guarantee that even if Fan Baobao has no roles to play, she will still bring you enough profit." Zhao Fusheng looked at Wang Jinghua and spoke deliberately.

Wang Jinghua was taken aback. Though it was her first meeting with this young man, for some reason, she could feel that Zhao Fusheng wasn't joking.
