Chapter 1369: Who Convinces Whom?

Rebirth of a Perfect Future · 第1369章 谁说服谁?

Zhao Fusheng didn't ask Dong Chenxi how Wu Sijie had made her see him in a new light; that would be pointless. Everyone has their own strengths, and that too is a kind of ability.

"It's too hard to get a meeting with you." Glaring at Zhao Fusheng, Dong Chenxi said irritably.

Blinking, Zhao Fusheng looked innocent: "Don't say that. I'm the boss, and I'm on vacation."

Taking a deep breath, Dong Chenxi controlled herself, not wanting to embarrass her boss in front of a bunch of subordinates. But honestly, she really wanted to punch this irresponsible guy.

"Hey, hey, hey, I get the feeling you're thinking something bad."

Seeing Dong Chenxi's expression constantly changing, Zhao Fusheng couldn't help teasing.

Dong Chenxi snorted unceremoniously and walked straight inside, leaving Zhao Fusheng with a proud, aloof back.

Zhao Fusheng didn't mind. Smiling, he greeted the subordinates who had come to the US with Dong Chenxi, then walked inside.

Since they had rented a seaside villa in Miami, the space was quite large. When Zhao Fusheng entered, Dong Chenxi and Fan Baobao were already chatting.

The two women were whispering. Zhao Fusheng looked helpless. Dong Chenxi was just single too long, so her hormones were out of whack; otherwise, why would she act like a lunatic?

"Tell me, why did you come?"

After the two women finished catching up, Zhao Fusheng asked Dong Chenxi.

He knew that if it weren't important, Dong Chenxi wouldn't disturb him.

This had become an unwritten rule in Future Group: everyone knew the boss didn't like being disturbed. Unless something significant came up, the company's top brass wouldn't bother Zhao Fusheng.

Dong Chenxi nodded, didn't beat around the bush, and took out the document Wu Sijie had given her. "Take a look at this. It's the valuation of Facebook from the US side. I think selling Facebook shares now is premature. Not only should we not sell, but we should find ways to increase our stake in Facebook."

Zhao Fusheng was startled, then laughed.

He naturally understood what Dong Chenxi meant. This woman had set her sights on Facebook.

But what surprised him more was Wu Sijie. That guy had recognized Facebook's value in just a few days and convinced Dong Chenxi. He was quite talented.

No one doesn't want a team full of talent. Zhao Fusheng was no different. He wished all his subordinates were geniuses, saving him a lot of unnecessary effort.

But life often goes against our wishes most of the time.

For so long, Zhao Fusheng hadn't found many geniuses among his subordinates. Most were mediocre. Even he, without the halo of rebirth, would be just an ordinary person.

So Wu Sijie's performance today truly satisfied Zhao Fusheng.

"What, am I wrong?" Dong Chenxi asked Zhao Fusheng, a bit puzzled.

Zhao Fusheng shook his head and waved his hand: "You're right, but the problem is, this is the United States."

Dong Chenxi was taken aback, a bit confused, but Wu Sijie showed a thoughtful expression.

Glancing at Wu Sijie, Zhao Fusheng knew the other party understood his meaning.

He hadn't expected to pick up such a capable assistant. Given time and space, this guy might grow into a talent who could stand on his own.

Just that sharp thinking alone was beyond most people.

Of course, Zhao Fusheng wouldn't show it too obviously. Wu Sijie had been with him for only a short time; even if he wanted to praise him, now wasn't the time.

"You mean our Chinese identity will be a problem?" Dong Chenxi's mind was quick; she soon grasped Zhao Fusheng's meaning and asked tentatively.

Zhao Fusheng nodded and explained: "Think about it. Would the US government allow a Chinese person to become a major shareholder of Facebook?"

Dong Chenxi fell silent. The logic that Zuckerberg understood, she understood too. As Zhao Fusheng said, this was a deadlock.

Given America's nature, this would definitely become a tool to attack Facebook, and they might even pull some other tricks.

"That is indeed a troublesome matter." After a long while, Dong Chenxi said slowly.

Not just her, but even the Future Investment management who had come along fell silent after hearing Zhao Fusheng's words.

They had originally planned to persuade the chairman, but now it seemed the chairman wasn't blind to profit opportunities; he simply saw further than they did.

The issue of vision was a fatal flaw.

"How about you let a relative take US citizenship?" Hesitating, Dong Chenxi looked at Zhao Fusheng and said quietly.

Zhao Fusheng burst out laughing.

"Who do you think you're fooling?" Zhao Fusheng glared at Dong Chenxi and shook his head: "Baobao won't take US citizenship. That's a matter of principle."

That was true. Fan Baobao was an actress. Even as his wife, casually taking US citizenship would have some impact on her.

The key issue was that this was a self-deceiving method. Did they really think others were fools?

Zhao Fusheng never believed there were real fools in the world, except those with intellectual disabilities. Players might not seem smart, but in fact, they might just be pretending.

After all, a fool gives off a safer impression.

Most importantly, Zhao Fusheng didn't think this was a good way to solve the problem.

Dong Chenxi sighed. Since Zhao Fusheng refused, this matter was really hard to handle.

Zhao Fusheng smiled: "What's the big deal? There are plenty of profitable businesses in the world. Can we stick our fingers in all of them? The biggest taboo in life, especially in business, is greed. I find you're a bit greedy now, wanting to grab a piece of everything. Don't you think about whether we have the appetite?"

By the end, Zhao Fusheng's tone was no longer joking but quite serious.

As a corporate manager, the biggest taboo was Dong Chenxi's current mindset. The starting point was good, but if one blindly pursues profit while ignoring objective conditions, that's a major pitfall.

Forgetting integrity for profit is terrible; forgetting oneself for profit is equally terrible.
