Chapter 1618: An Unexpected Phone Call

Rebirth of a Perfect Future · 第1618章 意外的电话

"Chairman, do you have something in mind?"

Seeing Zhao Fusheng's expression, Park Sun-young asked cautiously.

Clearly, her boss had a plan; otherwise, he wouldn't have that look on his face.

"Find time to negotiate. Have SM form a subunit—pick a few members from Super Junior, make Han Geng the leader, and focus on developing the Chinese market."

Zhao Fusheng said quietly to Park Sun-young, "Tell them it's my idea."

"Okay."

Though she didn't know why Zhao Fusheng gave such instructions, Park Sun-young still took out a pen and wrote it down.

"Chairman, what's this about?"

Hu Donghai sat nearby, somewhat surprised that Zhao Fusheng had come up with this idea.

Zhao Fusheng chuckled: "Don't worry, it'll be interesting."

He wouldn't tell anyone that the Korean Wave would soon sweep through China. Since that was the case, he might as well help his fellow townsman Han Geng out.

Whether Han Geng could seize the opportunity was up to him.

He had given the chance; if it didn't work out, it wasn't his problem.

"Alright."

Hu Donghai shrugged and said nothing more.

He wasn't the curious type anyway; he just asked out of boredom.

The performance on stage ended quickly, and the two hosts Zhao Fusheng disliked came back up.

"Really..."

Watching the two tell jokes that even they found awkward, Zhao Fusheng's mouth twitched in speechlessness.

It had to be said, sometimes there were people in this world who, just by standing there, could make you feel annoyed.

The two hosts on stage had that talent.

They awkwardly chatted for over ten minutes, invited a few people up to speak, then exited again, and a few more young people came on stage to perform.

Zhao Fusheng recognized them at once—they were the ones who had bullied the girls and whom he had driven away.

"Buzz, buzz..."

Just as Zhao Fusheng was about to speak, his phone rang.

He glanced at the number; it was unfamiliar.

"Hello."

Zhao Fusheng took out his phone and answered directly.

"Fusheng, hello."

On the other end came Lee Boo-jin's voice; she seemed to be in a good mood.

"Hello, Sister Boo-jin."

Zhao Fusheng's hand holding the phone didn't tremble at all, but he stood up and walked outside.

Clearly, Lee Boo-jin wasn't calling about anything else; it was most likely about the cooperation.

Seeing Zhao Fusheng leave, Hu Donghai and Park Sun-young naturally stood up as well.

Everyone else had been sitting and watching the performance, so their movement was quite conspicuous. For a moment, both the boy band performing on stage and the audience below looked over.

The group on stage was fine; they exchanged glances, their expressions not particularly pleasant, but they continued performing nonetheless. Below the stage, Song Kang-ho and the others looked at each other, all feeling somewhat surprised—could it be that something had come up with him?

Naturally, Zhao Fusheng had no idea that answering a phone call could draw so much attention from others; he simply didn't want to continue discussing business matters with Lee Boo-jin in that setting.

Leaving the venue, Zhao Fusheng walked toward the lounge he had been in earlier.

Arriving at the door, Zhao Fusheng said to Hu Donghai, "Don't let anyone in."

Hu Donghai nodded and stood guard at the door with his men.

Of course, before that, he went in to check first, ensuring it was safe before letting Zhao Fusheng enter.

Zhao Fusheng walked in holding the phone, while Park Sun-young and Hu Donghai and the others stood guard at the door.

"You're not in Seoul?"

On the other end of the line, Lee Boo-jin, who had been waiting for a few minutes, asked somewhat surprised. She had originally thought Zhao Fusheng was in Seoul and had planned to meet him today.

Zhao Fusheng smiled slightly: "A friend came to attend the Busan International Film Festival, so I came along."

As he spoke, he chuckled: "What's up, Sister Boo-jin? Is there something you need?"

Even though he knew full well why Lee Boo-jin was calling, at that moment Zhao Fusheng had to play dumb.

After all, the worst thing in business is losing the initiative.

"If you're in Busan, then wait until you get back, and we'll meet to talk."

Lee Boo-jin naturally knew that matters of cooperation couldn't be clearly discussed over the phone.

Zhao Fusheng smiled slightly: "Alright, I'll call you when I get back, Sister Boo-jin."

Since she wasn't willing to speak plainly, she must have her reasons, and Zhao Fusheng wouldn't force the issue.

Moreover, he also needed to consider to what extent he could cooperate with her if she proposed a partnership.

After making the appointment with Lee Boo-jin, Zhao Fusheng finally put down the phone.

Opening the door, he let Park Sun-young and the others in. Zhao Fusheng sat in a chair, lightly tapping his fingers on the table.

He didn't speak, and naturally Hu Donghai and the others didn't say anything either; the room was very quiet.

After a long while, Zhao Fusheng looked up at Park Sun-young: "Notify the group headquarters, have Future Investment compile the shareholding information of the companies we hold and fax it over."

As the head of the secretariat of Hanstar Investment, Park Sun-young naturally knew what Zhao Fusheng meant by the group headquarters.

Could it be that Future Group was really about to start cooperating with Samsung?

As a native Korean, Park Sun-young certainly understood what the word Samsung meant. If Future Group became a partner of Samsung, especially on Korean soil, wouldn't that mean Hanstar Investment's future was bright?

"Okay, I'll do it right away!"

Park Sun-young quickly nodded.

This was a huge matter; it absolutely couldn't be delayed.

Watching Park Sun-young go out to make the call, Zhao Fusheng said to Hu Donghai, "Get ready; we might be returning to the country in the next few days."

"Return to the country?"

Hu Donghai was momentarily startled, and though somewhat surprised, he still nodded: "Okay."

After all, Zhao Fusheng was the boss; he could do whatever he liked.

Park Sun-young was quick; after contacting the group headquarters, she came back to report to Zhao Fusheng, and then the group left the venue.

As he walked out, Zhao Fusheng sent a text message to Jiang Wen, telling him he had business to attend to in Seoul and to go back with Song Kang-ho and the others.

With assistants and translators around, and Song Kang-ho, Bong Joon-ho, and the others present, there was no need to worry about anything going wrong.

Koreans have an extremely strong sense of national pride. As a notable figure in the Chinese film industry, Jiang Wen's participation in the Busan International Film Festival was undoubtedly a significant event for the Korean film circle. Anything that could harm their image was unacceptable to them.

Sitting in the car, Zhao Fusheng took a deep breath. He knew that next, he would face new challenges.
