Chapter 0164: The Heavenly King's Thoughts
Rebirth of a Perfect Future · 第0164章 天王的想法
On the day Zhao Fusheng left Beijing, many things actually happened.
Less than three hours after his plane took off, another flight from Hong Kong landed. Several people walked out of the airport exit, led by a man wearing sunglasses, followed by a woman in professional attire.
“Huazai, is it really that urgent?” the woman asked the man with sunglasses.
“Sister Ling, you don’t understand. This endorsement is an opportunity for me.” The man with sunglasses got into a waiting RV, then took off his sunglasses, revealing a slightly tired face.
Yue Yiling was Liu Dehua’s agent in Hong Kong. Since the Heavenly King set up his own agency, she had been handling everything. There were many rumors about their relationship, but only they knew that the other was the most trustworthy person.
“Sister Ling, don’t forget, Hong Kong is ultimately too small. The mainland market is the broadest.” The Heavenly King looked exhausted. After receiving Wang Jinghua’s call the day before, he had considered it for less than two hours before flying overnight from Hong Kong to Beijing, hoping to show his sincerity.
“You mean to use this opportunity to break into the mainland?” Yue Yiling said in surprise.
Liu Dehua nodded: “Exactly. We need to use this chance to fully enter the mainland market.”
As he spoke, he earnestly instructed Yue Yiling: “We must secure this endorsement, even if the fee is lower. Don’t just focus on immediate gains; take a longer view.”
Yue Yiling seemed thoughtful, then nodded.
They knew their own situation well. Both she and Liu Dehua were aware that although the Hong Kong entertainment market seemed prosperous now, it was actually in decline. At the very least, recent box office results showed that the entire Hong Kong entertainment market was on the verge of collapse.
If they didn’t find a suitable way out soon, even Liu Dehua, bearing the title of Heavenly King, would face a dead end.
That was why, after receiving Wang Jinghua’s message, she agreed to Liu Dehua’s overnight trip.
What she worried about was whether, if the news leaked, other Hong Kong stars might interfere. After all, these people in the Hong Kong entertainment circle, though appearing harmonious on the surface, often played dirty tricks behind the scenes.
Even Liu Dehua himself had once been forced to act with a gun to his head. Moreover, this was such a great opportunity; once successful, it would open the mainland market.
If the news spread, many would surely flock to it.
“I’ll contact Wang Jinghua right away.” With that thought, Yue Yiling took out her mobile phone and began calling Wang Jinghua.
When Wang Jinghua received Yue Yiling’s call, she was in a residence near the Central Academy of Drama, looking at the woman before her who was lowering her head to drink porridge, with an expression of frustration.
“Miss, my dear, my good sister, do you have any brains? If you’re in a bad mood, tell me, okay? Why go out drinking? And getting drunk in the middle of the night without coming home—are you crazy?”
Wang Jinghua rattled off like a machine gun, her face twisted. Those familiar with her would know she was in a particularly irritable state.
“Say something, will you?” Seeing the woman before her not speaking, Wang Jinghua couldn’t help asking.
“Sister Hua, don’t be angry. I definitely won’t dare next time.” The woman finished her porridge, looked up, and said slowly.
“Hah, do you think I believe that?” Wang Jinghua sneered. “Let me tell you, this endorsement was recommended by Old Chen to the planner. Just perform well and don’t embarrass me.”
“Is it that serious? An endorsement, embarrassing you?” the woman said nonchalantly, clearly not taking it seriously.
“Your partner is Liu Dehua. Your own endorsement fee will be at least five million. Miss, tell me, which other actress in the country commands this price?”
Seeing this, Wang Jinghua reached out and tapped the woman on the head. “Listen to me, this is an opportunity. We need to establish you as the top actress in the country. From now on, for all product endorsements, we only take the best and the most expensive, understand?”
“Ouch!” The woman clutched her head in pain, then waved her hand. “Alright, alright, I’ll listen to you.”
Wang Jinghua nodded with satisfaction. Then her phone rang. Glancing at the number, she was somewhat surprised and walked aside to answer.
“Miss Yue, lei hou ah.” Wang Jinghua spoke in broken Cantonese.
Yue Yiling chuckled. “Sister Hua, don’t stand on ceremony. Let’s just speak Mandarin.”
With a snort, Wang Jinghua laughed herself, then asked, “Miss Yue, may I ask what you need from me?”
“It’s like this: Huazai and I have arrived in Beijing. If it’s convenient this afternoon, how about we meet to discuss the advertisement?” Yue Yiling didn’t beat around the bush and stated her purpose directly.
“Ah, a meeting.” Wang Jinghua repeated Yue Yiling’s words instinctively, then suddenly jolted. “Wait, you said you’ve already arrived?”
“Yes, Huazai and I are heading to the hotel by car. We can meet this afternoon to talk in detail, how about it?” As she spoke, Yue Yiling simply handed the phone to Liu Dehua.
“Sister Hua, it’s me.” Liu Dehua’s mellow voice sounded, finally convincing Wang Jinghua that she wasn’t dreaming.
“Huazai, what’s this about?” Wang Jinghua was puzzled.
Liu Dehua smiled. “Sister Hua gave me an opportunity, so I naturally have to seize it. I’m going to the hotel now to rest. Let’s talk this afternoon. Please believe in my sincerity, and I hope we can cooperate happily.”
“Alright, alright, happy cooperation, happy cooperation.” Wang Jinghua agreed with a smile. After hanging up, she was a bit dazed.
“Sister Hua, what’s wrong?” The woman who had been drinking porridge looked at Wang Jinghua curiously. The always composed Wang Jinghua rarely showed such a flustered side.
“That kid, did he already anticipate this and just leave?” Wang Jinghua muttered to herself, then looked at the woman. “You, clean up yourself. I have things to do, I need to go.”
The woman looked puzzled. “What are you going to do?”
Wang Jinghua, one of the top agents in the country, respectfully called Sister Hua, took a deep breath to control her urge to strangle the woman before her.
She glared at her fiercely. “What am I going to do? To get you business and make money, you silly girl!”
With that, Wang Jinghua said to the woman, “Wait for my call. Dress up nicely tonight for the meeting with your partner. Don’t let Heavenly King Liu outshine you, understand?”
The woman was taken aback, then chuckled, showing a haughty expression. “Don’t worry, I’m Zhou Feifei. The man who isn’t captivated by me hasn’t been born yet!”
As she spoke, she silently added in her heart, “Except for that heartless bastard!”
