Chapter 0200: The Stick
Rebirth of a Perfect Future · 第0200章 棒子
When Han Bin said those words, he was all smiles. Even Zhao Fusheng couldn't tell whether he meant it deliberately or was just speaking casually.
Zhao Fusheng said he would handle the ad campaign, and Han Bin responded by telling him to come directly to him if he had any issues.
In other words, they were each responsible to the other.
Shaking his head, Zhao Fusheng didn't dwell on it. To him, whether Han Bin was truly wise or just playing dumb didn't matter. If he did a good job on the ad campaign, Zheng Yao would handle the rest.
"Come on, let's grab a bite."
Han Bin invited Zhao Fusheng to eat. He had come with his father on business; Han Pojun was meeting an old friend, and Han Bin, bored, used delivering the phone as an excuse to slip out.
Zhao Fusheng nodded. They found a barbecue place and ordered some skewers.
Han Bin was a foodie. Zhao Fusheng wasn't, but he knew where the best cheap eats near the school were. The place he chose was tasty and affordable, and Han Bin kept praising it.
After dinner, it was past eight. Zhao Fusheng looked at Han Bin, who was tipsy from drinking, shook his head helplessly, hailed a taxi, and personally took him back.
At the hotel, he asked for Han Bin's room number, had the front desk call up, and soon Han Pojun's assistant came down. Zhao Fusheng handed Han Bin over and left without seeing Han Pojun.
He always felt a bit strange around Chairman Han, as if Han Pojun was trying to see through him.
The taxi stopped at the entrance of the Second School District. Zhao Fusheng paid, thanked the driver, and waited for change. Then he noticed a figure sitting by the roadside.
The person looked familiar.
"Here's your change, young man." The driver's voice snapped him back. As he took the money, the driver sighed, "Another drunk."
Zhao Fusheng was startled. "You know her?"
The driver shrugged. "No, but there are always girls like that around here, drunk and wandering around, not afraid of trouble."
With that, he hit the gas and drove off.
Zhao Fusheng frowned, looked around, and understood why the driver said that.
The reason was simple: this was the Ninghai Normal University International Convention Center. The first floor had a hotel where international students often ate, and many school girls liked to come here too.
Zhao Fusheng didn't want to comment. Everyone had the right to pursue happiness, but he hoped those girls wouldn't be fooled by appearances. Not every foreigner in China was rich.
It seemed the woman had been drinking inside and then came out.
Zhao Fusheng shook his head. He didn't plan to help. Why bother? He wasn't Superman or Batman; he had no interest in rescuing people.
Just then, the woman stood up, walked to a big tree, and started muttering to herself.
Zhao Fusheng was about to leave when he saw a short man approach the woman.
They seemed to be talking. Zhao Fusheng thought they knew each other until the man grabbed her arm and she began to struggle.
"Aishibal!"
The man cursed and yanked her toward another direction.
"Let me go! Let me go!" the woman shouted. Her voice sounded familiar.
"Hey, stop right there!" Zhao Fusheng walked over. He had had less than a bottle of beer while eating with Han Bin, so he was perfectly sober.
It was clear the woman didn't know this Korean.
Zhao Fusheng knew all too well the kind of foreign students these were. Most of them couldn't make it in their own countries, but in China, they transformed into gentlemen, worshipped by those who fawn over foreigners.
"Who are you?"
The Korean, obviously drunk too, was pulling the woman and glaring at Zhao Fusheng.
Though it was past nine, people still passed by. Soon a crowd gathered.
Zhao Fusheng didn't bother to look at the woman, who was wearing sunglasses and had her hair covering her face. He stared at the Korean. "Hey, Korean, I'm asking you: do you know her?"
"None of your business!" The guy clearly understood Chinese, replying in broken Mandarin, "What the fuck are you looking at?"
"Oh, you even speak Northeastern dialect." Zhao Fusheng laughed. "Right, I'm looking at a dick."
"Hahahaha!"
Everyone around laughed, except for a few Japanese and Korean students who didn't get it.
The Korean was stunned for a moment, sensing something was off but not sure what. Seeing everyone laugh, he knew Zhao Fusheng had said something bad. He glared. "Get lost. She's my girlfriend."
"Girlfriend?"
Zhao Fusheng sneered. "Come on, tell me her name, what college and major she's in. If you can, I'll apologize. If not, believe me, I'll break both your legs and your third one too."
Though many girls threw themselves at Korean oppas, not all did. Zhao Fusheng could tell this woman probably didn't know this Korean.
He vaguely felt he had heard her voice before, and none of the girls he knew would fall for these foreigners.
"Yeah, tell us which college?"
"What's her name?"
"Isn't she your girlfriend?"
The onlookers, all Chinese students, sided with Zhao Fusheng, shouting for the Korean to answer.
"Chinese pigs, mind your own business! She should be honored that I slept with her!"
The Korean, red-faced and drunk, shouted when he saw he couldn't leave.
In that instant, the world went silent. A cold glint flashed in Zhao Fusheng's eyes, and his breath quickened...
...
