Chapter 0202: Throwing a Tantrum

Rebirth of a Perfect Future · 第0202章 发脾气

Zhou Feifei now felt a splitting headache. She felt as if she were about to explode—not only was her head throbbing unbearably, but she had also lost a segment of her memory. She only remembered that yesterday, feeling down, she had gone drinking again. The beginning of the memory was still clear, but after a few drinks, everything was completely blank.

It was as if someone had forcibly cut that part out of her memory.

As an actress, and a very professional one at that, Zhou Feifei knew well that human feelings are not always correct. What the eyes see may not be real, what the ears hear may not be the truth, and memory is even less reliable.

In other words, almost everyone has had a similar experience: seeing a certain scene or experiencing something, and feeling certain that they had seen or experienced it before.

Many people often think they can foresee the future.

But in fact, this is merely the memory nerves in the cerebral cortex deceiving humans themselves.

For Zhou Feifei, however, she vaguely remembered feeling uncomfortable after drinking too much, then leaving the bar, after which everything was unclear. In a daze, she recalled seeming to see that bastard again—the one who had left her in the restroom last time.

But this time, when she opened her eyes, what she saw was Wang Jinghua looking at her with an angry expression.

And of course, there was also the embarrassed-looking assistant beside her.

"Didn't you promise me you wouldn't go out?" Wang Jinghua stared at Zhou Feifei, eyes wide.

"Well..." Zhou Feifei smiled awkwardly and changed the subject: "Um, Sister Chen, was it you who brought me back?"

Sister Chen was her assistant, also personally trained by Wang Jinghua. She gave a bitter smile upon hearing this: "Feifei, you really almost got into trouble this time. If someone hadn't brought you downstairs, who knows what could have happened outside. When I came downstairs just now, I heard that something big happened around here last night!"

"What happened?" Not only Zhou Feifei, but Wang Jinghua also looked bewildered.

"It seems that last night, because some foreign students harassed female students, a group of students got into a fight with the foreign students." Sister Chen looked horrified: "Tell me, Feifei, what if something had happened to you last night?"

"Exactly, if something had happened, just see how I deal with you!" Wang Jinghua glared at Zhou Feifei indignantly.

Zhou Feifei said nothing, lowering her head like a model of guilty confession. But somehow, she felt that the thing Sister Chen had just mentioned sounded familiar, as if she had heard it somewhere before...

"By the way, Sister Chen, you said I was brought back by someone?" After a long while, Zhou Feifei raised her head and asked Sister Chen.

Sister Chen nodded: "I asked the lobby manager downstairs. He said a young man brought you back. He took you downstairs, called me, and then left."

As she spoke, she added regretfully: "Such kind-hearted people are rare these days."

Zhou Feifei felt something was off, but couldn't pinpoint what. She had to suppress her doubts, raised her head, and looked at Wang Jinghua: "Sister Hua, has Future Advertising contacted us?"

Wang Jinghua nodded: "General Manager Zheng called me this morning. She and Zhao Fusheng will come over in person to discuss."

Thinking that she would finally see that detestable Zhao Fusheng, a flame of anger surged in Zhou Feifei's heart. She had to ask that guy why he looked down on her and repeatedly tried to replace her.

Actually, she was wronging Zhao Fusheng. He didn't even know her and had never said anything about replacing her. It was Zheng Yao and Bai Jie who were dissatisfied with her.

"I'm telling you, restrain your temper for a while." Wang Jinghua shot Zhou Feifei a glare. Having mentored her for several years, she knew the girl's personality well—she would give her heart and soul to someone she liked, but if she hated someone, she wouldn't give them a single kind look.

Although she knew that Zhou Feifei had a grudge against Zhao Fusheng, Wang Jinghua did not think she should offend him now. After all, under the current circumstances, even though she didn't understand why Liu Dehua had chosen to endorse Aipu phones for free, if even Heavenly King Liu was willing to lower himself for this endorsement, what right did Zhou Feifei have to refuse?

You see, although Zhou Feifei was quite popular in the domestic film and television circle and was touted as being able to go international, Wang Jinghua knew very well that it was just a gimmick hyped up by the media. A woman in her twenties, what good acting skills could she have? The current Zhou Feifei was purely relying on her natural talent.

And once that talent ran out, the difficult situation she would face would be unimaginable for ordinary people.

"I know, isn't it just about putting on an act? I'm better at that than anyone," Zhou Feifei snorted, got up, and began to tidy herself. Since she was going to meet someone, she had to present her best side.

At that very moment, Zhao Fusheng and Zheng Yao were having breakfast together.

Many people think that the rich should live in luxury, eating bird's nest, lobster, shark fin, and the like every day. Actually, that's the same logic as a farmer imagining that the king eats with golden chopsticks.

No matter how rich a person is, they still eat rice and flour, at most a bit more refined.

Moreover, neither Zhao Fusheng nor Zheng Yao, though they were now moderately wealthy, had reached the point of extravagance and waste. So their breakfast was at an ordinary roadside diner.

"By the way, when we go over later, if there's a chance, replace Zhou Feifei," Zheng Yao said while drinking her porridge.

Zhao Fusheng frowned. "Why?"

"Bai Jie and I both think she's unsuitable. There are plenty of people willing to come forward to cooperate with Liu Dehua. She's not irreplaceable," Zheng Yao explained.

Zhao Fusheng shook his head. "I'll think about it. We've already promised Chen Dao and Wang Jinghua; we can't go back on our word."

"So what? We haven't signed a contract yet..." Zheng Yao said nonchalantly. "We're an advertising company; we don't need to care about them."

Before she could finish, Zhao Fusheng frowned deeply at her. "Who told you that?"

"Huh?" Zheng Yao was puzzled. Before she could explain, Zhao Fusheng said bitterly, "My dear manager, don't forget, no matter how good we are, we're just an advertising company. If we break our word, and people spread the word that Future Advertising changes its lineup at the last minute, do you think anyone in this circle would dare cooperate with us?"

"What do you mean? It's not like we won't pay," Zheng Yao frowned.

"It's not about money. These celebrities do need advertising endorsements to increase exposure, but the problem is, if they see our company as untrustworthy, do you think they'll care how much you pay? Besides, that's Chen Dao. Do you think any celebrity would cooperate with us if Chen Dao said he wanted to blacklist us in the Beijing entertainment circle?"

Zhao Fusheng looked at Zheng Yao with displeasure and disdain. "With that mindset, you want to make the company bigger and stronger? Ha, I really doubt how much longer we can last."

He was genuinely a bit angry. He had originally thought that sending Zheng Yao to Beijing would get things done.

Unexpectedly, she had listened to Bai Jie and caused such a mess. No wonder Wang Jinghua hadn't called him all along; it turned out they thought the role was being replaced.

With that in mind, Zhao Fusheng looked at Zheng Yao. "Was replacing her your idea, or Bai Jie's?"

"Bai Jie's. What's wrong?" Although she had realized that Zhao Fusheng's words made some sense, Zheng Yao still didn't understand his point.

Zhao Fusheng took a deep breath and said solemnly, "Let's do this: temporarily shelve the plan to move the company headquarters to Beijing. If you want to move, you can go to Binzhou. As for the Beijing branch, dissolve it and turn it into a liaison office. Just send someone there. Have Bai Jie come back; if she's willing to manage finances, she can go to the finance department. Don't let her get involved in management anymore."

A person who fails to recognize their own position and abilities but still gives arbitrary orders is the most terrifying. If it weren't for the fact that they had started the business together, Zhao Fusheng would have already forced Bai Jie out just for this reason.

As for Zheng Yao, if she continued like this, Zhao Fusheng wouldn't hesitate to let her go either.
