Chapter 0438: Going Crazy
Rebirth of a Perfect Future · 第0438章 抓狂
Zhao Fusheng had once read a book that said a trusted subordinate without too much material ambition was worthy of trust.
At the time, he thought it made sense, but now looking back, it was nothing but a load of nonsense.
Zhao Fusheng was certain that if someone under him truly had no desires or demands, he wouldn't dare entrust them with important tasks. The reason was simple: if a person lacked even the most basic material needs, what did they want?
The answer was obvious—whatever they wanted, he couldn't afford to give.
Fortunately, so far, no such person had appeared around Zhao Fusheng, so he could still live happily.
"At this rate, by early next year, we can consider opening branches in the province," Tan Kaixuan said, lying on the dorm bed after dinner, addressing Zhao Fusheng.
Zhao Fusheng nodded. "Basically no problem."
He paused and asked, "How's your dad's progress?"
Tan Kaixuan laughed. "Everything's going smoothly. When he heard we made a good profit, he got interested. But my dad's idea is not to open a store in Shanghai."
"Why?" Zhao Fusheng was puzzled. If he remembered correctly, Tan Kaixuan had initially told his parents they would open a store in Shanghai.
"My dad thinks KFC already has branches in Shanghai, so even if we open one, we'd just be following in their footsteps," Tan Kaixuan shrugged. "He's thinking of opening two or three stores in the areas around Shanghai."
Zhao Fusheng was taken aback, then laughed.
He had to admit, Tan's dad was a savvy businessman. His idea wasn't just fine—it was particularly promising.
"So, is it promising?" Tan Kaixuan asked Zhao Fusheng.
To be honest, although he was quite tempted by his father's proposal, for some reason, Tan Kaixuan always felt uneasy without asking Zhao Fusheng's opinion.
That was probably trust. Over time, Zhao Fusheng had proven his abilities with facts, earning Tan Kaixuan's wholehearted admiration.
Otherwise, with his inherent pride, how could he easily show weakness in front of a friend?
Zhao Fusheng smiled and nodded. "It's more than promising—it's boundless. Let me tell you, when it comes to business, you really should learn more from Uncle Tan. There's a lot of depth to it."
He meant it sincerely. After all, Tan's dad had done business at Shanghai Yu Garden for many years. Compared to him, even Zhao Fusheng himself wasn't as experienced.
Tan Kaixuan grunted, not sure if he took Zhao Fusheng's words to heart.
Many people have had the experience during school of feeling that rest time was too short—before they'd even rested properly in the dorm, it was already time for class.
Zhao Fusheng felt that way now. He had just lain down in the dorm when the alarm went off. He got up and saw it was already 1:20.
To be honest, it was an unpleasant feeling, especially for someone like Zhao Fusheng who loved to sleep in. It was quite frustrating.
But there was no help for it; every student went through this.
Waking up the soundly sleeping Tan Kaixuan, the two headed to the classroom together.
When they arrived, Wang Zhen and Wen Yu had already saved seats and waved them over.
"You two bastards who forget your friends when you have women!"
Sitting down, Tan Kaixuan glared at Wen Yu and Wang Zhen and muttered.
"Look at you, we kindly saved you seats and you're complaining," Wen Yu said with a smile.
Wang Zhen nodded vigorously, looking deeply in agreement.
Tan Kaixuan chuckled, looking like he couldn't be bothered with them.
As for Zhao Fusheng, he hadn't spoken at all, silently taking out his textbook and starting to read.
There was only one class in the afternoon. After it ended, Zhao Fusheng found to his dismay that he was left alone.
No help for it—Wen Yu and Wang Zhen had to accompany their girlfriends, and Tan Kaixuan had to go to the store. Only he had nothing to do.
"Loneliness is a feeling!" Zhao Fusheng comforted himself, then cheerfully headed back to the dorm.
People need to find reasons and excuses to comfort themselves anytime, anywhere; otherwise, life would be too tiring.
Though he said that, Zhao Fusheng wasn't actually that bored. Back in the dorm, he had a pile of things to deal with. For one, out of the eight proposals, he had only written three so far. Dong Chenxi had almost blown up his phone, and Zheng Yao called every now and then to ask.
To this, Zhao Fusheng could only say that although he had a ton of classic proposals in his head, finding the right ones wasn't easy.
"It's fate," Zhao Fusheng sighed, returning to the dorm and turning on his computer to write proposals.
By evening, Wen Yu and Tan Kaixuan returned one after another. Seeing Zhao Fusheng sitting there with a constipated expression writing something, they knew he was busy with serious work and didn't disturb him.
At seven in the evening, Zhao Fusheng finally finished a proposal. When he looked up, he found a dinner on the table.
A smile crept onto his lips. Without ceremony, he sat down and started eating.
After dinner, Zhao Fusheng lay on the bed to rest.
Balancing work and rest had always been one of his mottos. Money could never be fully earned—not by him, nor even by big shots like Ma Xiaoyun or Ma Laoban.
Becoming a slave to money was undoubtedly a tragic thing.
Nothing happened that night. The next morning, Zhao Fusheng arrived at the company early and called Dong Chenxi.
"Come get the proposals," Zhao Fusheng said, then hung up without giving Dong Chenxi a chance to speak.
Dong Chenxi stared at her phone blankly, standing there speechless for a long time, puzzled. When had Zhao Fusheng, that dawdler, become so diligent?
It hadn't been that long, and he had already finished eight complete ad proposals—quite unexpected.
But then again, maybe Zhao Fusheng really was, as he had said in front of Zheng Yao, planning to contribute to the company's development. After all, everyone changes.
With that thought, Dong Chenxi arrived at the company. But when she saw Zhao Fusheng, she froze.
"This is what you call finished proposals?" Dong Chenxi asked word by word.
Zhao Fusheng nodded matter-of-factly. "Of course."
Her mouth twitching, Dong Chenxi clutched her forehead. "I shouldn't have believed you!"
Zhao Fusheng chuckled. "Four is not bad. Look at you, as a lady, you should stay calm."
"Calm my ass!" Dong Chenxi said irritably. "The advertisers are calling like crazy, urging us. Zheng and I are going insane."
Zhao Fusheng frowned. "Tell them if they can't wait, we'll refund their money."
"Huh?" Dong Chenxi was speechless. "Come on, hundreds of thousands in liquidated damages—are you crazy or am I?"
Zhao Fusheng smiled awkwardly, a bit embarrassed since it was his fault.
After thinking for a moment, Zhao Fusheng said, "How about this: tell the remaining clients that I'll try to write them as soon as possible?"
Dong Chenxi resignedly nodded. "I got it. Go, go, just go!"
Clearly, if Zhao Fusheng kept hanging around, she might lose it.
Zhao Fusheng didn't dare say anything and quickly left.
Watching Zhao Fusheng's retreating figure, a smile appeared on Dong Chenxi's lips. In a strict sense, Zhao Fusheng had done pretty well; he just didn't realize it.
Ad planning wasn't like eating or drinking—it required inspiration. In other words, someone might take a year or more to write a perfect plan, while another might come up with two or three brilliant ideas in a single day.
Someone like Zhao Fusheng was truly a genius.
Of course, this particular genius didn't seem to be aware of it.
