Chapter 0529 Acting Heroically

Rebirth of a Perfect Future · 第0529章 见义勇为

Zhao Fusheng advised Zhang Qian because he could understand the pain of watching a loved one pass away without being able to do anything about it—a pain he himself had experienced in his previous life.

It was a feeling mixed with helplessness and grief, impossible to describe in words. In those days, Zhao Fusheng felt as if his world had gone dark, devoid of sunlight and hope.

The only thing that could save him was time.

As time passed, his mood calmed, and he quietly hid the wound away, letting no one see it, only revisiting it in solitude.

Zhang Qian heard Zhao Fusheng's words, looked up at him, and nodded slightly. “I know.”

He wasn't stupid. Zhao Fusheng's words were clearly out of concern, and Zhang Qian didn't refuse them. Though he had a cold personality, he wasn't ungrateful.

Two men in their early twenties sat in the park, surrounded by couples strolling by, creating a somewhat incongruous atmosphere.

Listening to the sounds of people playing and laughing in the distance, Zhang Qian squinted and glanced at Zhao Fusheng. “Grandpa said to entrust the welfare home to you. From now on, I'll follow your orders. Whatever you ask me to do, I'll do it.”

“The problem is, I don't even know what I want to do myself.”

Zhao Fusheng said somewhat helplessly.

In truth, he felt a bit frustrated. If he went to the suburban school for his internship at the end of the month as planned, his time would be extremely tight.

With less than a month left, there was no time to make any arrangements, and financially, Zhao Fusheng didn't consider himself wealthy.

All his current plans seemed scattered, like random strikes here and there. Though he wanted to turn himself into a human printing press churning out money, Zhao Fusheng knew well that this was no longer the early 1990s, an era of rugged heroes and rising talents.

Back then, people could build a business with just tens of thousands, and some big shots even dared to raise funds for R&D with a 33% return on investment.

But now, if he tried that, he'd definitely be arrested as a fraud.

The masses have sharp eyes; anyone trying to deceive them won't escape their gaze.

Zhao Fusheng wanted to laugh but couldn't.

As he told Zhang Qian, he really wasn't sure what project he could take on next.

Partly because he had high standards for projects, and partly because he was still considering how to truly develop.

“Hmm, KFC is in the food industry, the arcade is for entertainment. As for the rest...” After pondering, Zhao Fusheng had to admit that among his ventures, Zhang Qian was only useful at the arcade. Elsewhere, his skills were wasted—you couldn't expect Dong Guoxiang's website to hire a gatekeeper like Zhang Qian, right? Besides, Fan Baobao, his parents, and the others hadn't reached a level where they needed bodyguards.

As for KFC, it was a partnership with Tan Kaixuan. Zhao Fusheng had never thought of inserting anyone into it, just as Tan Kaixuan had never considered it.

Trust was the fundamental quality that maintained their good relationship.

“Forget it, you stay at the arcade for now,” Zhao Fusheng said to Zhang Qian.

He wasn't extravagant enough to need a bodyguard, though he knew that Zhang Qian's best role was exactly that.

Everyone has their strengths. Zhao Fusheng, with his foreknowledge from rebirth, had a better big-picture view than most. Tan Kaixuan had a sharper business sense. Zhang Qian's combat skills and attentiveness made him most suitable for security work.

Zhang Qian nodded, raising no objection to Zhao Fusheng's arrangement.

Both he and Zhao Fusheng knew that the old man's words today had established a master-servant dynamic between them.

Having been through so much, Zhao Fusheng understood the importance of power and knew that to live peacefully, he needed his own influence.

Living in harmony with everyone, free from conflict, was just a beautiful dream.

Because this world respects strength; people fear power more than virtue, and remember benefits more than punishments.

So, though unwilling, Zhao Fusheng had to make himself stronger.

Great people do great things. If a great person ever does something small, it only means that thing is seemingly small.

Just as every small person has a chance to influence history.

So Zhao Fusheng felt he needed to gather more talents around him.

In future development, he wouldn't only deal with gentlemen and good people. More often, surrounded by ordinary folks, he couldn't control who he'd meet or what methods they'd use.

Black cat or white cat, as long as it catches mice, it's a good cat.

In other words, when society's mindset becomes “the winner is king, the loser is villain,” you can't expect everyone to adhere to the same moral baseline.

Zhao Fusheng didn't want someone to kidnap Fan Baobao or his parents to force him to back down one day.

Though he knew that if that happened, he might unhesitatingly give up everything.

Patting Zhang Qian on the shoulder, Zhao Fusheng stood up and was about to leave when a scream came from nearby, followed by a woman's panicked voice.

“Robbery! Robbery!”

A dozen seconds later, two figures dashed past Zhao Fusheng and Zhang Qian, holding a black women's handbag.

Behind them, a woman in high heels shouted loudly. Clearly, these were two robbers.

Frowning, Zhao Fusheng said to Zhang Qian, “Chase!”

Zhang Qian said nothing and shot forward.

Zhao Fusheng reacted quickly too, and the two gave chase one after the other.

Five minutes later, the two robbers stood still.

More precisely, they stopped voluntarily and turned to face Zhao Fusheng and Zhang Qian.

Behind them were three young men holding fruit knives, with strange grins on their faces.
