Chapter 0543: Best Actor

Rebirth of a Perfect Future · 第0543章 最佳男主角

"Fusheng, what are you doing here?"

A surprised voice came from beside Zhao Fusheng and the others. Turning around, Chen Hai was walking in with several men in suits.

"I'm here for a class reunion. Uncle Chen, what are you doing here?" Zhao Fusheng asked in surprise.

"Business entertainment." Chen Hai waved his hand with a smile: "You go ahead and have fun; I won't tell your dad later."

Zhao Fusheng chuckled and nodded.

At this point, Chen Hai naturally noticed Fan Baobao. He was also aware of the relationship between the Zhao and Fan families, so he nodded to Fan Baobao: "Baobao is here too."

"Hello, Uncle Chen." Fan Baobao greeted politely.

"Mm, you kids have fun. I'll head over now." Chen Hai said a few words and left directly. He had arranged to treat some business friends to dinner today; it was purely coincidental.

Before leaving, he called over the lobby manager and pointed in their direction: "My nephew and his group's expenses, charge them to my private room. I'll sign the bill later."

With that, he led his group straight upstairs.

Zhao Fusheng exchanged a helpless glance with Fan Baobao and could only accept Chen Hai's "kindness."

Liu Yuan and the others looked surprised, not expecting that Zhao Fusheng knew such a big boss. After all, for a group of students, anyone who could spend money at Jinsha and have a private room was definitely a successful person.

"Who's that?"

Zheng Xue sidled up to Fan Baobao and asked quietly.

Fan Baobao had nothing to hide and replied: "A former comrade-in-arms of Zhao Fusheng's father, now a business partner."

"Oh, I remember Zhao Fusheng's family were workers, right? They went into business?" Zheng Xue muttered softly.

She was a class cadre and knew the family situations of many classmates.

"Yeah, they started doing business last year." Fan Baobao said indifferently.

She couldn't tell others that the main reason Zhao's father went into business was because the family's financial burden was too heavy.

While they were discussing this, Liu Yuan's group was quite embarrassed. Originally, they had only planned to sing for a while, but now Chen Hai had taken care of everything, leaving them unsure what to do.

Seeing this, Zhao Fusheng smiled and said to the manager: "Please arrange a large private room for us."

The manager nodded and went to arrange it.

Zhao Fusheng then looked at Liu Yuan: "Since my uncle is treating us, let's not be polite. At worst, we'll go over and toast him later."

This was the most common way of handling things among adults, but for a few college students, it was still unfamiliar.

Liu Yuan and the others exchanged glances and could only nod.

After all, they were still students. Even if their families were well-off, places like this were still high-end consumption venues for them.

Especially when everyone sat in the private room and saw the price, even Liu Yuan, who had been a bit upset earlier, dropped the idea of competing with Zhao Fusheng.

What a joke—the minimum charge was eight hundred eighty-eight, and that was just the starting price. The full package would cost at least two or three thousand. The beautifully dressed waitress, probably instructed by the manager not to offend guests, politely asked Zhao Fusheng and the others if they needed anything else, even though the room was full of students.

Seeing that Liu Yuan and the others didn't seem to want to talk, Zhao Fusheng shook his head, chuckled lightly, and said to the waitress: "Just bring a few sets of beer and drinks, along with fruit platters and snacks. We're only here to sing."

The waitress smiled and nodded: "Okay, please wait a moment."

Working in a place like this, although not necessarily judging people by their appearance, the waitress knew that anyone who could afford to spend money here was richer than her, regardless of how they dressed. At the very least, one visit here cost as much as two months of her salary without eating or drinking. Although this group were students, who knew if there was a wealthy second-generation among them?

At least, looking at Liu Yuan, she thought he had a certain presence.

Zhao Fusheng naturally understood all this, suppressed his laughter, and continued to play the invisible man. Meanwhile, the carefree Fan Baobao, after confirming her boyfriend was in a good mood, focused on chatting with a few female classmates.

On the other hand, Liu Yuan and the others muttered for a while and could only sigh that everyone has rich relatives.

But even so, when they looked at Zhao Fusheng, who was still playing on his phone in the corner sofa, their gazes changed. After all, they were still young and not as thick-skinned as adults. Today's expenses were at least a thousand yuan, and they all owed Zhao Fusheng a favor.

Soon, the drinks and snacks were brought up, and the atmosphere in the room grew lively. Everyone sang or played games, making quite a racket.

Fan Baobao, however, didn't sing. Instead, she sidled up to Zhao Fusheng, poked him with her finger, and whispered: "What's wrong with you?"

Zhao Fusheng was startled, then smiled and pointed at Zheng Xue, who was singing: "A bit noisy."

After all, it was karaoke, so the environment was definitely noisy; whispers were inaudible.

Fan Baobao simply took out her phone and typed a message to Zhao Fusheng: "What's wrong with you?"

Seeing her action, Zhao Fusheng smiled and typed back: "I'm thinking, how many books could the money spent here every day buy? How many people in need could it help? I don't understand why those rich kids or wealthy people don't do something worthwhile. Spending money is one thing, but having resources and funds to start businesses yet wasting them on squandering—isn't that like sitting on the toilet without shitting?"

"You're always talking nonsense." Fan Baobao glared at Zhao Fusheng and whispered in his ear: "Stop worrying about others. Maybe you just can't see the efforts they make behind the scenes?"

Zhao Fusheng curled his lips but didn't say anything more.

In his view, children born with a silver spoon rarely understand the hardships of the common people, and those willing to endure hardship are even rarer. Few parents truly want their children to start from scratch and suffer as they did; most hope their children can live without worries, leaving the struggle to themselves.

This was a long-standing mindset, ingrained in the bones, and would remain so even a hundred years later.

Even Zhao Fusheng himself was striving desperately, hoping to earn enough money so that his family wouldn't have to worry about finances anymore.

In other words, if given the choice between letting Fan Beibei endure hardship to earn money or working hard himself to start a business, he would unhesitatingly choose the latter.

He didn't notice that when Fan Baobao leaned in to speak to him, Liu Yuan, not far away, had a darkened expression.

Hostility, sometimes, only needs a small trigger to erupt.
