Chapter 0621: The Cat Is Out of the Bag

Rebirth of a Perfect Future · 第0621章 露馅了

"I heard you've been getting pretty close with Xu Lei lately?" Yu Feihong's words left Zhao Fusheng stunned on the spot.

"What?"

Zhao Fusheng looked at Yu Feihong with a bewildered expression: "Sis, where did you hear that gossip?"

He was genuinely confused. He had only had a meal with Xu Lei, and that was at Jiang Wen's urging. How did it turn into him being close with Xu Lei?

"Gossip? People are saying it with real detail." Yu Feihong smiled and said to Zhao Fusheng.

Zhao Fusheng frowned, his expression turning unpleasant.

Seeing his reaction, Yu Feihong knew he was overthinking it. She chuckled lightly and said, "Don't take it to heart. These things are unavoidable. In this circle, there are no secrets."

Zhao Fusheng sighed and nodded. He understood what Yu Feihong meant, but he still felt uncomfortable, and his opinion of Xu Lei dropped another notch.

Jiang Wen wouldn't be idle enough to spread such gossip; it was most likely from Xu Lei's mouth.

"Old Xu is a decent person, but she's too clever." Yu Feihong said slowly to Zhao Fusheng.

Their relationship was closer, so she didn't mind whether her words would upset Zhao Fusheng.

Zhao Fusheng nodded, understanding her meaning. In the entertainment industry, such things happened to everyone, even the big shots couldn't avoid them.

There are no secrets in the entertainment circle; the only difference is whether they are made public or not.

"Alright, don't think too much. I called you over because I have something to discuss with you." Yu Feihong said to Zhao Fusheng.

"Go ahead."

"It's like this. The Hope Primary School project you mentioned last time is almost set. The main problem now is that I'm too busy to handle it all." Yu Feihong said with a wry smile.

Zhao Fusheng was taken aback, then nodded. After all, Yu Feihong wasn't a goddess; she had her limits. She had to juggle the foundation and her acting career, so being stretched thin was no exaggeration.

"I'm planning to get a few friends to help me." Yu Feihong said to Zhao Fusheng.

"Uh, you can decide that yourself. Why are you telling me?" Zhao Fusheng looked puzzled, staring at Yu Feihong in confusion.

Yu Feihong paused, then shook her head: "Alright, I understand."

She realized she had been projecting her own insecurities onto him, thinking he would be upset about this, but he didn't care at all.

"Sis, this foundation doesn't really matter to me. I'm not part of this circle, and I don't plan to get involved in the foundation, so you can make the decisions yourself." Zhao Fusheng said sincerely to Yu Feihong.

Yu Feihong's brows furrowed slightly, a look of surprise crossing her intellectual and elegant face. She could tell Zhao Fusheng was being sincere, meaning he truly didn't want to be involved in the foundation's affairs.

So, was he really doing this for her?

Unaware that Yu Feihong was spinning a whole story from his words, Zhao Fusheng saw her fall silent, smiled, and let it go.

They chatted for a while longer, then Zhao Fusheng stood up to leave. It was getting late, and he had to go home and cook for Fan Baobao.

Yu Feihong didn't keep him, knowing he didn't care about formalities. Besides, their relationship was such that even though they'd only known each other for a little over a year, they were now as close as siblings, so she didn't mind the small things.

In a sense, feelings between people are all about fate. Some may know each other for ten years and never become close friends, while others may become brothers who would entrust their wives and children to each other after just a few months.

This isn't a joke; it's been proven by facts.

Not everyone you know is a friend, and not everyone you've exchanged a few words with counts as an acquaintance. Many people overlook this, thinking they have friends everywhere, often boasting that their friends come from all corners of the world.

Then, when they encounter difficulties, those friends from all corners truly return to their corners.

Zhao Fusheng was lucky in that he had met a few people in the entertainment industry who still maintained their inner selves.

Like Yu Feihong, like Jiang Wen.

Of course, occasionally Old Jiang could be a bit of a letdown, like now. Zhao Fusheng had just gotten home when he received a call from him.

"Bro, I've let you down." Jiang Wen's first words caught Zhao Fusheng off guard.

"What happened?" Zhao Fusheng asked curiously, thinking Jiang Wen had gotten into trouble.

After Jiang Wen explained, Zhao Fusheng's face twisted in exasperation. "Old Jiang, you really screwed me over..."

Yes, screwed over!

Zhao Fusheng's mind was now filled with resentment toward Jiang Wen.

Actually, Jiang Wen hadn't done much. He went to the Central Academy of Drama today and happened to see Fan Baobao and her friends. Since Zhao Fusheng had told him that his girlfriend was Fan Baobao, the 'Clear Mouth Girl' on TV, Jiang Wen, for some reason, decided to greet her.

Zhao Fusheng could even imagine Fan Baobao's bewildered expression.

After all, no one would expect a big star they usually only admired from afar to suddenly approach them and say hello.

It was like fantasizing about becoming Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, or Jack Ma, and then one day they come up to you and say, 'Hello...'

That was exactly how Fan Baobao felt. If there hadn't been people around, she might have turned and run. She barely managed to control herself, but even so, she was completely dazed throughout the encounter.

Jiang Wen himself only realized after greeting her that he had done something really stupid.

After all, Zhao Fusheng had mentioned this before, saying his girlfriend didn't know what he did for a living.

So he quickly called Zhao Fusheng, hoping to make amends.

Holding the phone, Zhao Fusheng felt that tonight he would definitely face a severe test.

As for whether he could pass it, honestly, Zhao Fusheng had no confidence at all.
