Chapter 0084: Site Selection
Rebirth of a Perfect Future · 第0084章 选址
Zhao Fusheng had no time to dwell on Wang Meiyu's so-called second meeting, because he had more important things to do.
Since he had given the money to his parents, the next step was to quickly choose a location for the supermarket. Procrastination was not in Zhao Fusheng's nature, especially when it concerned his family's future development.
Also, how to promote his website was another challenge.
It seemed he would have to find time to visit Su Xia and see if she had any connections.
After all, Su Xia was far more familiar with this area than he was.
As for his parents, Zhao Fusheng had already instructed them not to spread the word that he had earned the thirty thousand yuan, since it was just an advertising campaign.
Father Zhao and Mother Zhao didn't think much about it. In their view, this really wasn't something to casually publicize. Although it was good that their son had become successful, the problem was that the principle of not flaunting one's wealth had existed since ancient times. What if someone came to borrow money from them?
As for Fan Baobao, Father and Mother Zhao didn't give it much thought. In their minds, their son's advertising campaign would at most air on provincial or municipal television stations; how could it be the Qingzui Hanyan commercial that Fan Baobao had shot?
So when they got home, they didn't mention it, and Fan Baobao and Li Yuan naturally remained completely unaware.
At noon, after eating, Zhao Fusheng had nothing to do and wandered around near the school.
He wasn't just strolling; he was looking for a location for his parents to open a supermarket.
This was no joke. For one thing, from an advertising perspective, choosing a store location was something that required special caution.
If by chance he chose a place with no foot traffic, the losses would be huge. Heaven and hell are sometimes just a line apart.
"District Three is definitely out," Zhao Fusheng muttered as he walked, glancing around at the surroundings. He shook his head from time to time, clearly dissatisfied with the environment near the Third School District.
District One was all teaching buildings, not even within Zhao Fusheng's consideration. So it seemed the best places were either the intersection of the Second and First School Districts, or the East Gate of the Teachers' College opposite the Fourth School District.
Because Ninghai Normal University was originally called Ninghai Normal Senior Technical College and was only as large as the Fourth School District—the other three districts were later expansions—older Ninghai locals liked to call the area opposite the Fourth School District the Teachers' College East Gate. The location was interesting: although most of the residences were old bungalows, they were adjacent to the school and counted as school-district housing.
To the left was Ninghai Normal University, to the right was a large residential area, and it was also very close to Ninghai Health School, so many health school students occasionally came over.
Thinking about this, Zhao Fusheng felt a bit conflicted.
Because if he remembered correctly, the neighborhood around the Teachers' College East Gate would be demolished ten years later. Although it wasn't as convenient for transportation as the Second School District, the surrounding foot traffic was roughly comparable.
"A bit troublesome," he muttered to himself, shaking his head helplessly. In the end, this matter would have to be decided by his parents; he could at most offer a reference opinion.
He didn't notice that not far behind him, in a car, someone was watching him.
"What is this guy doing?"
Wang Meiyu sat in the car, murmuring to herself.
She really couldn't figure it out—what was Zhao Fusheng wandering around the university for?
"Sister Wang, I think he's looking for something," another voice in the car said. The speaker was a man in his early twenties, his face still carrying a hint of youthful immaturity.
"Looking for something?" Wang Meiyu was startled. "Li Xiang, do you mean he lost something?"
"No, no, not lost something. I mean, he seems to be looking at the surrounding buildings." The young man named Li Xiang was a recent college graduate who had joined a headhunting firm only a few months ago. He had been assigned as Wang Meiyu's assistant and accompanied her to Ninghai.
"Hmm, what is this guy up to?" Wang Meiyu frowned. For the first time, she felt there was a college student she couldn't figure out.
She had originally thought this would be a very easy errand, but now it seemed Zhao Fusheng gave her a feeling of being somewhat at a loss.
And at that moment, Zhao Fusheng had already noticed the black car that had been following him.
He stopped, turned around, looked at the car, and waved.
"He seems to have seen us," Li Xiang hesitated, saying to Wang Meiyu.
"Idiot, I know."
Wanting to kick her assistant, Wang Meiyu sighed helplessly and simply got out of the car.
"What a coincidence," Wang Meiyu said, eager to escape the awkwardness. Maintaining the most elegant and ladylike demeanor in front of every man was the greatest principle for a woman like her. She tried to steady her breathing, making herself appear calm and composed.
Zhao Fusheng smiled apologetically: "Miss Wang, I've said it before, I cannot leave Future Advertising."
Regarding Wang Meiyu's poaching attempt, he didn't think much of it. Headhunting might seem morally questionable as poaching talent, but later on, it only proves one's exceptional ability; otherwise, why would anyone go to such lengths to recruit you?
"Why?" Wang Meiyu frowned: "I don't understand. Whether it's future development, platform, or even compensation, what Perfect Advertising can offer is what Zheng Yao cannot give you. Don't tell me you've taken a liking to her."
She took a deep breath, smiled slightly, and revealed a charming expression: "What she can give you, I can too."
Zhao Fusheng raised an eyebrow and looked at Wang Meiyu, who seemed completely matter-of-fact. Clearly, for her, this was nothing unusual.
Or rather, he had heard a thing or two about headhunting in his previous life, and it seemed true—these headhunters would stop at nothing to poach talent.
But for Zhao Fusheng, this approach was really useless.
"Let's take a walk," Zhao Fusheng said after a moment's thought to Wang Meiyu.
Wang Meiyu was startled, then watched Zhao Fusheng walk straight ahead.
Frowning, she had no choice but to follow.
Walking on the school path, Zhao Fusheng kept a proper distance from Wang Meiyu. Wang Meiyu was taken aback, but her impression of Zhao Fusheng improved a bit; after all, such gentlemanly behavior always earns goodwill.
Walking on the road, Wang Meiyu calmed down considerably. The confidence of interacting normally with an ordinary male student returned to her. She looked at Zhao Fusheng and said: "I still don't understand why you're unwilling to leave Future Advertising."
Zhao Fusheng laughed and looked at Wang Meiyu seriously: "Miss Wang, do you know, besides being an advertising planner, what else am I?"
"Huh?" Wang Meiyu was startled, looking utterly confused.
Zhao Fusheng blinked: "I'm still a student, and Zheng Yao is my class advisor."
"What does that mean?" Clearly, Wang Meiyu still didn't understand Zhao Fusheng's point.
"You see, advertising design is my major, that's true. Although I've achieved some results now, no matter what, I need to graduate from college, I need to get my diploma."
Zhao Fusheng explained with a smile: "Tell me, if I leave my advisor's studio to join Future Advertising, do you think I can still get my diploma? Moreover, even if we set that aside, how big a stage can Future Advertising give a young man like me who doesn't even have a college diploma and is only a sophomore? Miss Wang, you're a smart person; I believe you understand this better than I do, don't you?"
Wang Meiyu was somewhat speechless, looking at Zhao Fusheng's serious expression, not knowing what to say.
Though reluctant to admit it, Zhao Fusheng's earnest statement had indeed moved her. Watching Zhao Fusheng's retreating figure, she knew that this poaching attempt was destined to return empty-handed.
